1979. Düsseldorf, Ratingen, Wohnsilos. Ich, ca 9 Jahre alt, zu Besuch bei meinem Grossonkel und meiner Großtante. Die Kids in der Umgebung haben einen "Discokeller" mit Aluminiumpapier ausgestattet und diesen Hammersong rauf und runter gespielt! Liegt daran, dass die Musiker früher noch Musiker waren. Heute hat man eine Produzenten und Songwriter die die ganzen Charts bedienen. Die ''Musiker'' sind nur noch Werbegesichter zu Vermarktungszwecken. Gilt nicht für alle, aber leider die meisten.

35 years after I first heard this, I came back to Google, Nick Straker Band, 'A Walk in the Park'. Why this was never a hit, when it managed to burn its way into my memory for that length of a time having first heard it as an 11 year old schoolboy, is a mystery to me. Along with Landscape's 'Einstein A Go Go' and Tenpole Tudor's 'Swords of a 1000 men' they were a couple of other songs I heard and never forgot from my coach tuned to Radio 1 on the way to and from school.

Ja, da haben Sie vollkommen recht! Seit Anfang der 2000er höre ich gar nichts mehr Aktuelles! Finde die Songs von den 50ern bis Ende der 90er cool, aber danach hört es bei mir auf. Ohrwürmer gibts doch seit Ende der 90er nicht mehr oder schon länger. Finde es traurig, aber beim Fernsehen ist es genau dasselbe Lied/Leid!! Da kommt auch nur noch Gockgolores (Unsinn) dran, angefangen von schwachsinnigen Doku-Soaps bis zu Comedyserien, die sowieso in 5, spätestens in 10 Jahren niemand mehr schaut!!!

Tuesday 12th November 2002 I was listening to this song on the Brig VS repeater frequency of DRS3 (now SRF3) and the Inter Regio train that I was riding at the time, was pulling into Siders / Sierre, about the end of the song. The train's next-stop announcement was in German, not in French. It was crossing the Röstigraben heading west to Sion / Setten and further to Geneva. When the train left Siders / Sierre, DRS3 played "Häbs güet" by Plüsch just afterwards.
