I'm not even that knowledgeable about this issue, nor am I a staunch or highly energized gun control activist, but just from what you've described, buying a gun sounds absurdly easy if anything (LOL). You're telling me you just need a driver's license and, like, a bill or something to prove that you live in-state? Like I said, I'm not even that gung-ho about gun control, but if you're right and this is all it takes for me to get my hands on an AK or whatever, then I absolutely get where gun control activists are coming from (LOL). At the very least, there should probably be mandatory psychological evaluations before you're allowed to buy a gun.

New York has been getting dickslapped for it by SCOTUS over and over for a couple years now. It's actually really weird how there's been no actual consequences for New York over what has been continual and deliberate civil rights violations despite I think about five separate direct orders from the Supreme Court since NYSRPA v. Bruen in 2022, and it's even crazier there's been very little media coverage of it. You'd think a state literally going rogue would immediately get the Army deployed but nothing so far.
