With KD it’s about coaching, culture and expectations. At OKC and the Nets they run simple iso and ask him to shoot 40, 50 from 3 & 2 but no cutting or screening like every other baller. So you get iso supreme KD. With Kerr at OKC and Coach K team USA he cuts and plays like a regular baller. He’s the best team USA baller all time as he’s never lost in the finals and has 4 golds. That’s playing real ball with no help from rules and playing against matchup zones. Many NBA ballers don’t want to play FIBA as it exposes their game and brand. Just watch past knock out games involving Harden, LBJ, Iverson, Duncan, Tatum, Beal plus many others who make >$30M. Even Steph is not Steph. Yet Manu, Scolla and old Oscar Schmidt would light up team USA. Anyway the NBA is going in the right direction even if the leading scorer stat goes down 5 ppg

KD playing with GS is different than both OKC and Nets. It’s all about what coaches allow and specifically stressing KD’s movement without the ball. The great superstar players are stationary in the half court as the coaches protect their energy and frankly kiss up. Kerr didn’t and the GS team essentially insisted on KD move without the ball which he did also under coach K for team USA and with U of Texas. Nash comes from a team oriented pass and cut background but he differs to the star player’s will. Steve has to get KD and Harden to commit.
@futrpdr3 жыл бұрын
I've been saying this about LBJ for a long time. He never had coaches stand up to him or had enough credibility to make him play a different style of basketball. There's a reason, besides his greatness, that his teams look completely different when he's injured or not on the floor. Player movement and being able to "touch the ball" throughout the game keeps players active and engaged. As great as LBJ is, no one wants to just sit in a spot on the court and watch that dude handle the ball and then have it tossed to them like a hot potato at the end of the shot clock. If you look at the teams who won most of the championships during the 21st century, they had ball movement and/or player movement. The Lakers had 2 HOFers, but they ran the triangle. The Spurs offense is dictated by player and ball movement; the Warriors the same. Even the Pistons won a championship because of movement.
@cn34603 жыл бұрын
@@futrpdr - very astute as I agree. Only last year and prior can a player like KD as great as he is and to some extent Harden, play iso at the top in a team game and shoot efficiently against help defenders where you essentially rise and shoot or step back for 4 quarters. In real FIBA/NCAA ball you can’t succeed at that with clever D. With the new NBA refereeing rules, it’s closer to real ball. These rule changes will lower ppg but produce a better NBA baller particularly vs. international competition. What’s your take.

I was watching Steph last season and I saw how much he was struggling stat-wise. The team wouldn't rebound (offensive & defensive = no second attempt shots, couldn't get possession), couldn't make shots (crippled his assist despite passing a whole bunch), and would be on the losing side once Steph stepped off the floor (forcing a lot of his games to be a comeback game despite leading at the start). Well, kd is the best and most efficient scorer ever lol 3’s or no 3’s. Kd has an mvp. Two finals mvps(steph has none) a finals appearance without steph and 4 scoring champs. Steph only has two scoring titles. And will retire with 3 rings at the least. Now we can get into all nba appearances where kd has two more then steph and 4 more all star games then steph. 3 more playoff appearances. Kd 27ppg career steph 24. Kd 7 rpg career steph 4. Kd 4 apg career steph 7(only three less being a forward) career fg% kd 49 steph 47 and in the playoffs kds stats blow stephs out the water. Stop being a fanboy

Just because you are a better overall player doesn't mean you rank higher in all-time ranking. all-time ranking values legacy more than just being the better player. and Steph has a better legacy than KD. That's why he is, in my mind, higher in all-time ranking

So when S.Curry drop 38 points on LBJ and beat Lebron James that same year to win the chip, no one said he was better than Lebron James... Keep in mind this the 1st time GSW beat Brooklyn since KD been in New York..People switch sides faster than the wind change direction. GET OUT OF HERE... Oh yeah here comes the LBJ fans excuses...

Look at the talent in brooklyn, of they gonna beat the warriors with a g league team when they have 3 superstars playing. This year the warriors got supporting pieces and made some g league players to nba players and they are rolling with steph as the driver. We can't say steph is better than lebron is cuz lebron has won many things without him playing with steph, durant came to golden state and the golden state were champions without him.
