As far as Russel Wilson starting for the Steelers. He was traded to the steelers with the understanding that he would be the Starter. However his injury has kept him off the field. It is said that he has a calf problem but he may have an Achilles problem, which is worse. In the mean time Fields is making progress and has shown growth as a starter. There where be no reason to sit him to give Wilson a Shot, unless Tomlin promised Wilson a shot.

When Peyton Manning went to Denver, he had outsized control. When Tom Brady went to TB, word was that he and Arians clashed over bring Antonio Brown to the roster (and Tom won that, of course). Word was that Brady and Leftwhich were more like co-OC's than OC and QB too. Russell Wilson had his own office in Denver. So the Rodgers / Saleh stuff doesn't surprise me, but it's only a problem if it doesn't work. Manning and Brady won SBs, so no one cares about the ruffling of feathers. I just seems like this is kind of par for the course for a HoF level QB in the last years of his career, trying to steer a team to the SB. Won't happen, but it's the same model.

Broncos fan here. I thought the same thing when he came from the Seahawks. Gave him every chance including the entire 1st year he played in Denver and into his 2nd year. There is a reason Payton was screaming at him on the sideline and wanted a new qb. He is limited in what he can do. He can’t read defenses well. Doesn’t hit open receiver and can’t go through progressions well. That’s why he plays “hero ball” and scrambles to make a play when the play breaks down. He takes sacks because he can’t make reads and holds onto the ball too long. He isn’t the same athlete anymore that let him get away with all those things because he can’t scramble and get out of sacks like he used to.
