IKR, It's wild that some people want to diminish/discredit Pat's role in helping the Chiefs get to this many AFCGG in a row and to this many Super Bowls by saying 'oh well X QB could have just as many if they were with the Chiefs', like what? 😂 Like those conversations are pretty disrespectful to people who have actually done it on the field. Andy was not viewed as a GOAT coach before that Eagles got tired of, and Spags was bouncing around the league for anyone to pick up, Pat was available to draft... Chiefs were the ones that took the chances
@Nowledgeman6 сағат бұрын
I mean both takes are kind of ridiculous... We don't know that Pat would have any superbowls on the bills. This ain't golf. Individual players, even the best QB in the NFL, can't carry a team to Superbowls. It's a formula. They have the perfect coach/QB combo. He had wide open passes all game and a lot of snake and drag routes. His life is made easier by Reid. He's still the best QB in the NFL but nick's take diminishes reid

Mahomes has 2 nice playoff moments, the SB comeback vs the 49ers the first time and the AFC Chanpionship against the Pats. He really hasnt done anything Mt Rushmore special like Brady in a couple seasons. Brady had early clutch moments vs. The Greatest Show On Turf. Mid Career clutch moments like Coming back vs Legion of Boom and Atlanta, and late career success against Mahomes. Brady also has done more with less throughout his career. I like Mahomes, he's definitely on track to be one of the greats, but to act like having Andy Reid, Spags and a HOF TE your whole career, that those dont matter? Improved track record because you have highscoring close games? If anything you can argue having those coaching and players makes making those types of games more likely of happening. Great take though by both guys.

Not enough credit is being given to Mahomes. He called the "Jet-Wasp" play in the 2020 SB, it changed that game completely. Andy had nothing to do with that call. You can't really coach the "13 seconds" route audible with Kelce at the line of scrimmage. You can't coach clutch. Reid had Vick, Alex Smith, McNabb. None of them were clutch in close games. Mahomes has all-time best winning % in games where he's losing/1 score. Look at 2021/2022 SBs.. what other QB is winning those with aging Kelce, C+ WRs, and an average running game? No one. As Nick says, it's a perfect marriage btw Reid and Mahomes. Reid MIGHT have 1 chip with Allen/Burrow/Jackson, but no way this dynasty.

I remember sitting watching Texas Tech vs Oklahoma and my buddies and I were all saying imagine Pat transferred to OU instead of Mayfield they would have destroyed college football for two or three years. Would Josh had won more Superbowl's? absolutely not. Josh took longer to develop and consistently made bone headed decision. This whole conversation goes back to the reality that you can’t score individual greatness in football with championships or team success in general. It’s the most team oriented sport there is. Is Eli as great as big brother? Greater than Marino? Stop it. I’m more impressed by what Elway did in his 20s (carried a team to three SB loses) than at the end of his career when he won two with that great supporting cast (Terrell Davis was the best player on that team BTW).
@345optimusprimeСағат бұрын
@jims512 You fans don’t believe in that entire word salad you said, in a league like its either winners or losers at the end of the day. When we start saying “it’s a team sport” that’s when most of the merit is lost because fans fetishize QBs success, plus most of the time the argument comes from an emotional response than rational. Cause if it’s a team sport, I can argue, for every yard passed the point of completion aka YAC shouldn’t be counted as a stat for the QB, but if I mention that part you guys will get upset but I’ll retort with “it’s a team sport! Stats don’t matter!”

One of the least taught defensive plays is a pulling guard or tackle or both. You don't see it that often, and it takes a lot out of those players unless in top condition. And if you do have that your offence has a more than a handful of plays.

Owners are going to have to take the risk of pulling chocks on those defensive HCs and promote from within. It's especially true of organizations with a franchise QB like Jayden.

Donavan McNab and Alex Smith were good quarterbacks , but weren't game-changers. Coach Reid, Andy Veech, Tim Terry, Ryne Nutt watched Mahomes through college and believed he was the best QB prospect that had ever scouted, and like Michael Jordan in 1984 falling behind Hakeem and Bowie, the Chiefs made their trade to move up in the draft and the rest is history.

@Myballsaintdrop theres no proof and no pudding. Actuall penalty stats show we arent even in the top half of scoring drives w a penalty. 17th in the nflChiefs are just flat out REALLY good. Ive lived here my whole life. I watched us get screwed by the refs and lose big games. What you're seeing is a generation of people who just Gaslight each other and what that does is it makes them feel like part of a gang it makes you literally have endorphins and good feelings when you hate on a team over jealousy. Cuz 100% if the Chiefs weren't winning no one would say a damn thing about any of these penalties. Every team gets penalties in every single game it's about what you do on the other 60 plays. 15 yards in a first down doesn't give you six points, it just gives you a fresh set of downs in which the defense has another three chances to stop them or turn them over. What you're watching is something incredibly effing special and as a guy who lived through the Patriots that was pretty cool except for when they got caught cheating and then it made it all sour. Still insane what they did. But you can see it's the same formula. It's a super smart quarterback who learns very quickly who is very competitive and does not want to lose. He just IS the greatest playmaker of our time. Thats the truth. And each of us has a choice if I for one second thought this was rigged why would I waste my time watching it. Why would u? And miss me with the oh well I'm going to start watching less cuz no you're not you're just saying that cuz you're mad right now.
