They got way too conservative up by 1 point. They ran the ball the whole 3rd qtr with the exception of a few screens. I don't mind running, but you can't just take the ball out of Josh Allen's hands every play. You have to stay aggressive and put the Chiefs away when you have the chance. Especially after the Chiefs proved they were all over that QB sneak play to the left. They never changed cadence or ran to the other side to show something different. They played not to lose like they did last week after they went up 21-10, and they were lucky the Ravens didn't at least tie it up at the end.

They were necessary. The score was 21-16 so ya go for that two to make it a 3-point game. When the Bills took a 22-21 lead they went for two...to get that 3-point lead. They failed again. In both situations an NFL team is going to go for 2 points. You should be at least aware of that. If the Bills kicked field goals, thats just two extra points in a 32-31 loss. If the Bills get both 2-point conversions, then thats a 33-32 Bills victory. Therein lies the big difference. If the Bills make those two conversions then it's not a mistake and you'd be applauding their fantastic execution in the clutch. Now here is the accurate reason why the Bills failed again... The Bills lost because their defense failed when they could not afford to fail. Ya can't allow Mahomes to do what he did today...he will take advantage of it every single time, and that is exactly what the Bills defense allowed him to do. And that is why the Bills lost.

I'm a Dallas fan and have been miserable for years now. Jerry Jones has cost the Cowboys dearly by constantly talking which prohibits the Cowboys from ever getting a coach that can make a real difference. They constantly show loyalty to people that just don't deserve it. Jason Garrett stayed far too long. They paid Zeke early without any reason to. Now Dak is the highest paid quarterback in the league with a 2-5 playoff record. Look at everything you just said about the importance of quarterback and coach in the playoffs and then go back and look at how they've addressed those two things since the mid 90s. There's all the information you need to know.

Excellence happens by doing the little things great. Consistency is the key. Being emotionally self control and performing when the pressure is on. This is what the chiefs are. They are like Mt Everest, all the wind, all the climbers (NFL teams) can sometimes impact the mountain, conquer the mountain, however when the weather clams and the climbers go, there is still the mountain, because they are so consistent in everything they do. Also! There’s only 1 player who has beaten the chiefs and mahomes 2 times in the playoffs… Brady. Why Brady? Because he is the same, the original Mt Everest!

FIRST COMMENT! This is the second greatest moment of my ‘COLIN COWHERD’ sports life. Second only to when Colin read my ‘perky jerky’ tweet on his podcast. I was listening whilst rando doing stuff that day and YELLED outloud, “DUDE, NO! WHAT?!? That did not just happen.” Twas a great moment.

The problem with the Doug Collins analogy is that Josh Allen isn’t MJ. MJ is Mahomes and Josh Allen is Patrick Ewing.

you cant underestimate the contribution of Leo Chenal. That guy has been great not only on defense but his special teams play is even better. Those are the unsung heroes of the Chiefs team!

Colin’s analysis: “Bills were conservative” Actual reality: Bills went for it on 4th down 6 times! 6x!!! And only punted 2x all game. Give credit to KC. Between Andy Reid, Spaggs and Mahomes, they are the best at their respective jobs.
@treborheminway381410 күн бұрын
The Allen roll out to Cook up the sideline worked everytime. Luckily for the chiefs, the bills forgot to use cooks down the stretch. That's bad coaching when it was obviously working so well. it's like if the Eagles stopped using Barkley.

I just don’t blame the Bills for putting the ball in Allen’s hands to try and put the dagger in.

@@ethangilworth7891 respectfully, I think your missing my point. Sure, Barkley is a top back and amazing to watch, I'm saying that it was working everyone. He was having a really great day. And they stopped using him. Coaching fail. I doubt the eagles would ever stop using Barkley. But if they did,and lost, it's on the coach! The bills loss, Is on the coach IMHO. I remember the old adage, do it till they stop it.

I know this has A LOT to do with Owners, Coaches, and QBs...BUT when the same teams keep winning over and over, then the league isn't making things difficult enough to maintain success. Growing up, no one hated the Patriots, until their 20 year dynasty hit. Now the same thing is happening with the Chiefs like it did for the 49ers.
@ethangilworth789110 күн бұрын
Every other team in the league struggles to succeed year after year. 49ers make it to the Super Bowl in 2024 and then the very same year they miss the playoffs. The Chiefs, the Bills, and the Ravens are the only teams that are consistently in the mix, and what separates them? Rock solid QB play and repeatedly nailing draft picks. Doesn’t seem like success is particularly easy, 1-2 draft picks go differently for these teams and we could be talking about any of them in the same breath as the 49ers.

one thing no one mentioned was that the bills ravens game was a war and to come back a week later to win in KC was daunting.

Other than Burrow in that one fluke year the only QB to beat Mahomes straight up was Brady twice. AFCCG and the Tampa SB. That not only shows Toms greatness but also how dominant Mahomes has been against everyone else. Remarkable run.

I think purely based off of this- and also how much better mahomes' roster was when he lost to brady in the playoffs- among other things solidify that mahomes will always lag behind brady in some way

AFCCG loss was before they changed the rules. Mahomes wasn't given the chance to beat him with the ball in OT. After Mahomes won in a similar OT situation they changed the rules to allow the other team an opportunity with the ball.

Scary that with the fact that most of Kansas cities best players are either core veterans on long term deals or guys still on rookie contracts the roster isn’t going to change that much next 2 years and I could easily see them winning the next 2 after this as well.

Chiefs have a lot of tough decisions to make this offseason and the next. Bolton and Trey Smith are free agents after the superbowl. After next season Jaylen Watson, Leo Chenal, Pacheco, Bryan Cook, plus our other 2 cbs will be free agents. Plus have to decide on contracts for McDuffie and Karlaftis. Gonna be interesting to see who ends up sticking around.

My family and I are boycotting the Super Bowl and possibly NFL for life. We’re encouraging our friends to do the same. The refs found another way, yet again, to help the Chiefs get the win! This robbery happened on the clear first down of Buffalo that they overturned and gave the ball to their pretty boy quarterback from the Chiefs. I won’t even mention her name.
@travisoshea10 күн бұрын
This was clear from the start that the coaching from Reid and Spags are and we’re just on a different level. It shows just how great Allen is to almost come out with a win, and especially after that first 25 minutes of this game.
