I think a better idea would be that if an op was MIA and failed to extract, then they would turn into a boss. But even if they turned into a boss you wouldn't have to fight it to get them back, they would be returned with reduced XP like its done now.

Watched the video entirely but I have been really, really deceived by Ubisoft these days. This is simply Operation Chimera's OUTBREAK mode with added content and sold at 40 bucks, that's a lot to ask for what was, in the beginning, a MODE available for a limited amount of time. They could've made it an extension of the base game, but no, they had to try and milk gamers to the bone. I'm not happy with Ubisoft, especially these days where most of their releases are plain reskins of older entries (Far Cry 6, Extraction, etc...). I guess that's what we get when people complain, but still buy...

I am part of the group that both loves Siege (and still plays it regularly) and is also loving Extraction. Extraction definitely targets a different type of gamer so those who are really into the highly competitive fps games might not get a thrill from this PvE focused game. However gamers who love PvE, cooperative focused games, similar to Destiny's PvE modes, might really enjoy this game. I'll admit, I wasn't too optimistic about Extraction at first, but after playing it, I think Ubisoft has done a great job with this spin on Siege

The parasite aliens look soooo generic and cookie cutter. Too humanoid, mostly weightless melee attacks with flailing arms, add some green blobs and spikes, corpses burn up and disappear after death, no environmental ambience. At least make it proper horror like GTFO with heavy ambiance and distorted enemies. I would love a PVE horror spinoff Siege but not... this

The problem is that the aliens aren't human enough. The reason that the Outbreak enemies looked good is because they looked like disfigured humans. They had human faces and clothes that made it seem almost, but not quite human which is way scarier than some fake looking, generic creature

I mean that's kinda what's happened, it's made by the same dev studio and based on the same R6 branch. This game is running on an updated and modified Siege code base built for an Anvil version 6 years newer than the one R6S is running on. They've done a large amount of upgrading and porting to make a R6S 2.0, or new R6 multiplayer game, a reality by building this game.

If y’all didn’t know Rainbow Six Extraction literally uses the Year 3 build of Siege. They’re the same game with different applications. It’s like Modern Warfare 2019 with Warzone.

I've been playing R6 from the very beginning back in the '90s or whenever it was and even before that I read the book. Still have it somewhere. I never really liked SIEGE, though. I like the game as such, but I'm sick and tired of pvp and the toxicity that comes with it. That means I never really got into seige. When I heard about extraction I was split. On one hand I was highly against the whole scifi setting as I felt it was too much of a departure from the original R6 lore. I've played extraction for about and hour or two (on game pass) and I must say it seems like a really solid game so far. Still not a fan of the plot, but if I get over my own grumpiness I can actually see myself play this quite a lot. It's a fun game play and the amount of variation is huge considering the rather small amount of actual, solid content. I suspect the will keep building on it, as the did with siege and we will see more operators and maps in the future. All in all I'm pleasantly surprised and look forward to putting some time into it.

I've played maybe 6 hours all together and got a good sampling of different content on offer. It's definitely entertaining and once you get accustomed to the systems a lot of things mesh together really well and its fun to explore your tactical options. The game also has an interesting balance between slow ambient horror and absolute shit hit the fan cluster luck. I'm not sure there's enough content here to justify a $40 price tag but as a part of Xbox game pass I'd say it's a nice entry. If it goes the route of the original siege and they keep the content and quality of life updates coming it'll surely be worth the full asking price at some point. Anyone who was around for the launch of siege can attest that game was anorexic for the asking price but has since come a long way to justify it. This game is fun in a limited capacity at the moment but there is good potential.

Hey I'm finally seeing some Single Player Content! That's quite the relief, almost had me thinking that this game was Co-Op only or something. I'm definitely going to be playing this game, at least completing. It's a game I've been excited for for a while and it's on Game Pass so that's kind of obvious to me. As a primarily Siege fan, it'll act as a nice break from the Classic Siege gameplay loop. Like a Special event with (hopefully) more replay-ability.

The game itself isn’t too bad. However, everyone that experienced it, which is about 90%+ of people in 2018, aren’t missing much. This could’ve been bigger than it is, especially for a $40 price tag & the fact you go back to Truth & Consequences, a place you been, so really it’s 3 new locations with the sub areas. Seems a bit lacking in area regard. I’m on Xbox, so I got lucky with GamePass, but I don’t feel bad for anyone that gets duped into buying either. This could’ve been a mode to Siege like before & something else to do because unless it’s for a Renown challenge, ppl hardly play Terrorist Hunt on the usual. But it is what it is & no trying to go back on it now. I don’t expect this game to kick off superbly, but if it manages to do so months from now, cool, but right now, it’s hard to justify this game unless you want an insanely casual PvE experience for a game you’re familiar with & enjoy playing Siege but wanted a PvE experience.

Co-op stealth? I'm down. I've grown tired of all the competitiveness in games these days. My only wish is that it was at least 4-5 player squads. 3 seems a little too low. I feel like a lot of people have more than 3 friends they game with. And it's such a small number it feels like someone in your group is gonna get left out. Especially when it comes to a game you can get for free from GamePass. That means EVERYONE you know could be playing it, not just the ones who decide to buy it.

I'll be honest. This seems like a game that was made with not much effort (since basic mechanics, animation and sound design seem to be the same as R6 Siege's). Also Extraction seems more like a game mode of Siege than a diffent game. Also they are still exploiting the name Rainbow Six. Rainbow Six wasn't a 5vs5 game like Siege and for sure it wasn't this uninspired game (we've already seen too many games like this in the years), it was a deep single player tactical first person shooter.

@@charlescabbage2933 kinda true yeah. New Dawn was the most uninspired spin-off of them all, since Blood Dragon was just awesome and Primal had an original concept, for sure different from the other games.

@@doggo7405 well im okay with this game , since it offers more than just a standard gameplay like outbreak, they expanded it to rank mode, high stakes missions and also buddy past.. and they already chopped 10 $ from its original price..... still better to wait for sale

6:09 uhh, this is not true at all lol, you can easily deal with sprawl & if you kill enemies through their weak point they don't spawn any sprawl along with killing nests, it's very easy to contain if you know what you're doing & it's not even a thing you consider when you're playing the game because in the upper stages everyone knows what they're doing, even in the first stages of the game players handle it just fine
