Decided to go for the pixel for the smoothness mostly and so happy so far but we'll see if it performs well in the battery and overheating areas. I got tired of samsung's frame drops and laggy UI. The only thing I'd complain about is that I let some apps open at night and went to sleep and the next day most of them were completely closed for some reason when it should've held them open in the background, I don't know why it did that, maybe it was to save battery but it was suspicious. Normally it doesn't do it but it happened, we'll see in the coming weeks

As a fan of both iPhone and Pixel, i find myself enjoying the Pixel setup more because of all the cool and useful features. I also like how you can customize your photos more with Pixels. Then i just prefer the widgets on android and the always on display. Apple may have the more powerful chips but in real world experience I've noticed Pixels seem to be faster at opening apps where iOS tends to feel slower. Ultimately it comes down to personal preference but for me iOS just lacks innovation and the OS is a bit boring in 2023.

Yes, the Pixel loads slightly quicker in "some" apps...but then when you go to scroll it's a lagfest. The speed of a phone is not determined solely on how long it takes for an app to load, that's only one part of the OS's speed (a highly overrated one at that). The entire OS needs to feel smooth and responsive in many tasks and inside the apps themselves. Without using a phone for a few days, it's very hard to determine the overall speed of a device. Glossing over the scrolling choppiness as some "minor" detail is pretty nonsensical.
@wrakor Жыл бұрын
Yep, the scrolling was done so fast that you couldn't even properly see how jittery it is on the pixel. Suffering from that very same problem.

@@hyywizz2687 coming from a pixel 7 pro, before I had a pixel 6 pro and now my newest phone is the 15 pro max. I can say confidently that iPhone is more polished and smoother overall. Switching apps with pixel and scrolling immediately or opening your opening with a double press will make the pixel lag unbelievably. iOS is just more optimized overall. I’m sure the pixel 8 pro is smoother than my 7 pro was but I don’t think optimizing the apps will make it much better just because of the personal experience I’ve had with pixel the last 2 years

@@fegodev just pixel phones, their tensor chip is garbage. Samsungs, Huawei, and one plus are a lot smoother.

I feel that google feels faster when in difficult conditions in terms of loading (except photos) but in optimal conditions, apple feels faster. My iPhone will just spin and spin if it has bad service while my friends pixel 6 will still load stuff with 1 bar- not the fastest but it feels like less struggle.
@siddarthoruganti1733 Жыл бұрын
important to note that pixel uses older UFS 3.1 and that could also cause loading and stutter. Check the ROM speed.
@BasilMinhas Жыл бұрын
I heard they upgraded to UFS 4.1 this year

Unfortunately not , still 3.1 but I would love to see that they have gone to at least 4.0.

Mobile apps are not hand optimized for a specfic CPU. I write mobile apps, desktop apps, and firmware for a living. This is just simply performance problems with the PIxel. Probably the Tensor (Exynos) is not coming out of low power states fast enough or the frequency ramp is too slow.

Pixel 8 is o par with IPhone 15 pro max even with slower cpu and slower ufs 3.1

if your not closing these apps as your running each of them then your giving an advantage to the pixel due to the amount of ram. Would never get an iphone anyways and just waiting for my 8 pro to come in.
