I ordered a 16 Pro Max. Had to return some items to the Apple Store and got my hands on a 16 Pro Max. I was so underwhelmed I'm returning my 16 Pro Max when it arrives. So happy I got hands on with the 16. Absolutely no reason for ME to upgrade and I'm saving $1200. Thanks, Tim!

I think with 16 Pro Max is a sizeable upgrade from the 13 Pro Max but one doesn’t have to upgrade from the 13 Pro Max which is one of the best iPhones of all time and the 16 Pro Max is kind of that moment, particularly with battery life.

I love these comparisons, I would definitely recommend upgrading if someone is on a 12 Pro Max as the upgrades are more substantial with 120Hz Promotion, Apple Intelligence and the much improved cameras as well as significantly better battery life. Great comparison Nick.

I replaced my battery at the Apple store (apple care) and the overheating went away. The battery life is MUCH better. I used to have to charge it twice a day. Now I can get to the end of the day with still 50-20%. Battery health has stayed at 97% for a year straight with the new battery as well. I keep getting tempted by 120hz but when I compared my phone to 15 opening apps at the Apple store, some apps were opening faster on the 12. I'd recommend trying a new battery out first. If you still really want the 120hz - go 16.

I have the 12 pro max too (256 GB) and it got sluggish too, but I deleted a lot of pictures and videos and freed up half the storage and it’s fast again. Maybe try that?

Check your battery health. If it’s below 80% better change the battery. If that’s not a problem. Check the storage of your iPhone. If it’s used upto 95%. Delete and maintain a free storage of 5 to 10gb.

I have the 12 pro max, 76% battery life. I will just replace the battery and 2 more years to go with this awesome phone. I know it doesn’t have 120hz but my life…. I use my pc’s monitor with 240hz and its too much for me. 60hz is enough for me.

Summary: Benchmarks don’t mean anything, if you can “torture yourself” to wait an extra half second, you’re all set with the great iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The comparisons are so marginal when it comes to average daily use which doesn't justify a yearly upgrade. I guess the latest iPhones are for those who really need the performance boost as it relates to gaming, video recording and editing.

Wouldn't ATT lock your phone into the contract for long 36 month with the deal you are talking about? If yes, you lose an ability to use any eSim card while traveling and be obligated to pay 10$ + tax to ATT for every day of usage while you are abroad.
