Always look forward to the Nick Burns review of the latest release! Ive been playing around with a bunch of 45mm builds these last two weeks and have been stoked on the potential. I built my meteor75pro with 20,000kv 0802 motors with a nbd beebrain v2 canopy for a dry weight of 27g and after a little D term bumping it absolutely rips! No hot motors and getting 3-4min flights. The other build Ive been really excited about is a tks75 with 22000kv 1002 motors that comes in at 26g dry and really moves well. Ive only posted video for the untuned meteor75pro so far, but will get video compiled for the tuned meteor75pro and the 1002 45mm tks75 hopefully this weekend.

A tool I use to push the props on my meteor series 65/75 is the Knipex Cobra XS. As long as you pay attention to the angle they are making contact with the top of the prop and the bottom shaft you can push them perfectly straight on. This gets the props right up against the bell.

About the breakup - for me it seems like the vtx on both analog and walksnail version are soldered to 5v pad on the flight controller. I've got 1s 75mm, 26.5g running the same FC, using 450 batteries can get up to 5m on walksnail. I used to have it powered from 5v, and yes, even on 25mw on walksnail it would have these lines when i get to ~3.4v. When I soldered vtx directly to vbat and now i can safely run it up to 3.2v on 200mw. When i disarm i have 3.5v, battery checker shows ~3.7v. ~5m of flight time. Or 4m with Nick's style of flying.

I'd rather have those removable fixed camera mounts than the adjustable mount on the Cetus X. If I snag a branch in flight, it can send the angle full up. And make it unflyable. If you tighten the screws enough to hold the angle steady, a crash will break the camera off the board. I had to hot glue my preferred angle in place.

I recommend an expresslrs radio, that isn't the brand but the transmission protocol. two budget options come to mind, the jumper t-lite and the radiomaster pocket. Bot small but different shapes and around $60, both come in expressLRS options. Googles are likely going to have to be box goggles on a budget. Check out Eachine 800DM and betafpv vr03. Neither will get the reception exactly as I have in my videos, as my setup is very expensive. But both are largely considered solid starter options.

I understand the smaller ones are snappier for indoor but if you are an absolute beginner (I am) does it make sense to try this larger format inside? I'm in a moderate 1-story not as open plan as yours but I'm moving at very slow paces trying to learn to fly FPV. I've got about 10 flights on my Meteor65 pro and at this point I can go down the hall, turn around, and come back without bouncing off the walls, floor, or ceiling.
@NickBurnsFPV7 ай бұрын
Size is relative to flight space and flight desires. Smaller will leave larger margin for error when flying in tight spaces, also smaller can be more challenging to achieve the flight speed or if desired tricks, this is just the result of the available thrust. I myself much prefer 75mm whoops over the smaller 65mm. Really when starting all size quads can be used to learn....depending on space and ability to lower camera angle. The lower we can adjust camera angle it will be easier to keep the speed down or comfort allows or a need arises for more camera angle.

Hi Nick B.,guys I got the meteor65 pro , very quick drone I flew it like 2 weeks , I sent it like 200 meters around a park all good. few days ago the range of the vtx FPV is been very poor now can't event go around the building and I got a black screen on my googles ,is this normal for these drones breaks right away or is any chance to fix it ? Thanks help !!
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
Check the antenna, it may have come off and if it has and we flew it the vtx maybe damaged. If the connection of the ufl of the antenna feels look we can take it off and very gently squeeze the outside edges back to make a better connection. The outside edge is grounding and does impact video reception.

Hey Nick, I have the M65 Pro (2021 edition) it's a nice whoop, faster than it needs to be! But the camera... oh my, the camera, its truly awful! (swapped it for an old runcam) Looking at your review though, the camera (+vtx) on this new M75Pro looks really decent?! Like, surprisingly better... Is it just me or is there a big improvement here? Wonder why its so chunky though... my Moblite7 Avatar only weighs 1.5g more, what makes it so heavy? Awesome flying as usual dude!
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
The frame adds weight as its larger, the props add weight for the same reason. The 1102 motors will also add weight. The canopy isn't terrible on weight but also not as light as it could be. I don't recall if I was using the HDZero goggles when I flew the 65 pro or not, but they dvr in the hdzero goggles is much better than anything else on the market for analog

Great review. I'm leaning towards the 2S indoor tiny whoops. I've experimented with flying a 2S tiny whoop indoors with a 60% throttle scale to keep it controlable & like it. What do you think?
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
For the longest time I was a big fan of 40mm propped whoops on 2s. 1s has gotten much better in the last two years. The thing to watch for is the battery weight. Bigger battery when flying quickly will tend to drag us away from our line.

Hi NBurnnnnns🔥🔥🔥🔥 !! Have you ever update your Meteor65-75 to ELRS 3.0 ?? If yes do you recommend a reliable tutorial ?? Thanks from Montréal Canada ❄❄❄❄❄
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
I haven't but I believe these are uart based so we should be able to update elrs via wifi. Plug in usb and wait about 90 seconds then on your computer with wifi on we should see a expresslrs rx network to connect to and flash via the desktop application. Its always a good idea to get a screen shot of 10.0.0.1 in a web browser when we connect to the expresslrs rx network. This shows us the target to flash.

Hi NickB. Do you know if this 75 mm whoop can go longer range distance ,or the 65 mm whoop could go onlger range ? I'm looking to get one a those whoops ,preferable the one who has longer range fly! Thanks if I can add module to make it go an extra meters that' fun !
@chrisbee5481 Жыл бұрын
Elrs has amazing range. 400mw vtx is als more than enough. You can easily go over one mile line of sight. It would just suck, if you do loose signal and have no gps resque. Besides the wind might be hard to handle. Get the emax 3" 1s to go far out and add a gps
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
The larger "75mm" will allow for a bigger battery and thus we can fly longer. As far as range we will likely be able to fly longer than the 400mw vtx will give us an image in the goggles unless we have clear line of sight.

@@MikeRM399 I too suggest going to the elrs route. Its very popular we can often add an elrs module to an existing radio. But if we are wanting to buy a new radio there are many options with elrs. I use the radiomaster zorro as pictured in many flight backgrounds. I also have the AG-01 gimbals in both zorros. We can buy the zorro with the ag-01 gimbals or add them later. The zorro uses the ag-01 minis. We can also use something like the radiomaster TX16/tx16s. That radio is larger and very popular, I just find I like the feel of the smaller radios and allows me to reach the extents of the stick easier. Just be sure to select the ELRS version when selecting a radio.

@@emmanuelcheveau4891 None in the category are easy to fly. We often start with flying on a computer with an fpv simulator. The next step up is something like the betafpv cetus x or cetus pro, then the next step is pretty much all other whoops. One thing to keep in mind we can fly slower with any whoop that has adjustable camera angle. A more flat camera angle will naturally slow us down and keep us from going fast until we change that angle.

Mine has the jitters Got a pid tune to help?
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
In this video I am running the default pid tune. I would check the betafpv website for the cli, and also check the canopy screws and loosen them a half turn or so. I have seen if the vibration dampening is to tight that it can have that impact. If the jitters started after normally flying for a while check the motor for hairs/debris and change props maybe.

im planing to transfer guts from meteor 75 pro into pavo pico frame whats youur opinion??

Should work fine as the components are similar. The kv on the motors is higher, which will shorten comparative flight time but also allow the pico to fly somewhat more aggressively. The challenge will be getting the PID tune right to ensure there is smooth video
