So a sub 250 chump? 5” a lil scary for ya cupcake?
@NickBurnsFPV21 күн бұрын
@@APS-yo8oy oh come on now. There are 3inch quads that rival the thrust of 5inch quads, one that comes to mind is the ER349 from years ago. I believe AndyRC clocked that one at 105+ MPH, at a much lower weight than a 5inch. I would venture smaller propped quads are more challenging to fly, not to mention they can be flown in so many more spaces. Calling someone a cupcake because they prefer something other than what someone else prefers is pretty offside.

@@APS-yo8oy No not at all as I do fly 700 size rc helicopters. Each blade is 700mm and swing up to 2000rpms. An unshrouded flying lawnmower if you will but real lawnmowers are generally below 1000 rpms.. I have gasoline powered 700 powerd heli's with a onboard generators too. I have gotten away from nitro as fuel is very expensive for 30% nitro. I just seem to enjoy up to 3 1/2 inch quads more than larger ones. I do still have a 5 inch that I use for 3D quad flying that I built years ago. I do have a QAV500 quad from many years ago that use 12 inch props.

I made the "mistake" of buying the frame and components and yolo'ing it together. I LOVE the challenge of the build for drones, however, this frame was an absolute BEAST to build in and figure out where everything goes. It literally has zero room for error and the lack of build suggestions and or diagrams is something they could improve upon. All in all, it's such a satisfying experience and my overall favorite quad that I have built this year. I keep going back because of the low center of gravity and build quality. Absolute joy AFTER the pain. :)

I do think most frames should have an associated build video. I do think that is part of the fpv market that is missing. Thank you for bringing that out.

I was planning to adopt the mounting for the Walksnail Moonlite but they send us a DOA unit and after a lengthy back and forth with their support they gave us a fake tracking number (went to another customer in Vienna). I contacted them again and they didn't react at all so I decided I that caddx is not a company I want to deal with at all. One of our customers build a Squirrel with the Moonlite (so there is a rough TPU-design) but he decided to switch to O3 for reliability reasons.

@@volkergoe Cool story. As a drone building company, you are telling a large portion of customers you have no plans to work with them. The fact that you couldn't get one says all that I need to know. I can buy a walksnail bnf and a pair of goggles for what you charge for your "Squirrel". I own Goggles 3 and 03 Air Units and I mostly fly my Goggles X, so just keep on doing things exactly the same thing, it seems to be working great for you.

With the COG being so centrally mounted the angular moments of inertia would be greatly lessened so you wouldn't see the pendulum effect as much. In other words, less wobble, over roll and corrections in flight would be reduced. Love that "Emax" tape. Nicely done video, as always! You HAVE TO pull hard because the strap just barely fits through the slot. It's TOO TIGHT of a gap IMO, and the overhang of CF is too short to take the stress required to pull the strap. When I snapped mine in a crash i just turned the top plate 180* to structurally support the camera cage and just added a velcro strap around the other direction.

Milling the arm down to half its width in the area that has the most load forces seems like a bad design choice. Might as well have the whole arm half the width and save some weight because the extra thickness beyond the milled section isn’t adding any strength.
