On 2S I just don't find 5A enough. Prefer to have the top-end power to pop out of dives and I'm seeing max current at 20A quite regularly. Would like a 2S board that still saves weight Vs 4S 20A boards but could manage a 10A per ESC. We seem to have gone from the old crazybee boards up to 20A or 35A AIOs and left behind the middle ground which are all 2+ year old designs. Lots of new 5A boards but nothing in the middle.
@NickBurnsFPV3 жыл бұрын
Betafpv has a new 10amp board, but no rx or vtx on it. I can't speak to why the market for true AIO haven't moved up to 10amp or more. I suspect its largely component fit. We save nearly 3+ grams with a true AIO over adding an Rx and vTx.

Nice flying. Like the speed. I'm curious whether you've tried larger 2s lipos to get more power out of this one.
@NickBurnsFPV2 жыл бұрын
bigger batteries don't equal more power. The power is supplied via the voltage of the battery. 2s 300mah battery has the same voltage as a 2s 3000mah battery. A 3s battery would have more voltage and thus power but the components used in the quad aren't rated for 3s usage.

Now i'm really curious about the press on props after asking and you answering my last q. Saving 2gs of weight and half the weight per prop spinning on this setup? Food for thought i feel like its a game changer but i need better weather to rly test.
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
Depending on the all up weight 2 grams can be a difference we feel in flight. The lower the AUW the more we will feel that 2 gram decrease. These props can be pretty challenging to get off once they are on, and on happymodel motors we have to be careful not to loosen the shaft from the bell. Its a careful and tedious process.

1 more question lol. I have HM1102 1350kv and betafpv 1103 1100kv motors. Which motors will draw more amps if everything else is consistent? I have a 5 amp & 12 amp board. 5 amp build will be 3-5 g lighter too.
@NickBurnsFPV3 жыл бұрын
the 1102 13500kv on gemfan 2023 prop will pull 20+amps. I can't be as specific about the betafpv motors. Looks like betafpv is recommending a 12amp esc for those motors.
@SlipperyBannana3 жыл бұрын
@@NickBurnsFPV you mean 20 amp across the whole board right? I saw you said that in the video. but it’s just confusing because they sell a betafpv bnf with a 5amp board & those 1103 motors too.
@NickBurnsFPV3 жыл бұрын
@@SlipperyBannana The amp draw will depend on the prop sized used. The larger/heavier the prop the more amps drawn. So it might be able to run on a 5amp esc AIO with a 4mm prop, but not if we have a 2inch or larger prop. Often when we referr to AIO boards the amp "sizing" is a single esc, as its a 4in1 esc.

Hey Nick, I often purchase turnigy batteries. HK has a warehouse in Europe. I'm just wondering if your recommended 300mAh 45C turnigy are just as good as similar HV batteries? Dont HV's perform better or have advantages?
@NickBurnsFPV3 жыл бұрын
I don't charge any multi cell battery to high volt. Only my 1s batteries are charged to HV. I find in these tks frame on the 1102 10000kv motors the 300mah 2s nanotechs perform very well, better than other 2s 300mah or even 350mah.

I literally just built a 75 mm 5 amp AIO FC with 1103, 13000kv. soooo much fun, felt like 3S almost, but kept dropping in mid air... Now I know why. Would you upgrade the FC on your rocket race keep up with battery thristy, 1102 13000kv motors?
@NickBurnsFPV3 жыл бұрын
The don’t think I would as I would have to move up to a larger battery and I really prefer the super light and agile flight
@huckaberryfpv49863 жыл бұрын
You can try to lower motor scaling to get that kv down a bit,13000kv on 2s and 5amp esc is definitely pushing limits,1103 8000kv is still kinda on the fence for 2s 5amps esc but can be done just little headroom for voltage spikes,stay away from turtle mode on that esc🤟

Hey there Nick. So I have a set of 1102 9000kv and also a set of the 10000kv. Would you say it would be a good idea to go with the 9000kv on the 78mm rocket frame due to it being lighter and put the 10000kv on the starlord for the bit extra thrust? Or is the difference not really that huge? Trying to resist the urge to pick up another set of the higher kv motors lol. Also what is your thoughts on running this 3s with a 12amp fc and those same 9000kv? Thanks!
@NickBurnsFPV3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I would likely do the same 9000kv on rocket race and 10000kv on starlord. The flight difference between kv isn't huge but it is noticeable. I am not sure the 1102 motors can handle 3s. Often when we increase battery weight on these types of quads our flight time falls through the floor, we do get more aggressive flight characteristics.
@valden3 жыл бұрын
@@NickBurnsFPV Thanks for the insight Nick. I think if I want to shoot for 3s on 2 inch, I probably want to go with a different setup and maybe do something more like the Vanta 2 nano from avantquads with a lower kv 1103. Have a good one!
