Hi Nick, for being the one introducing that motor size and having done many different build with them in the last year here my opinion: -don't waste your time with the rcinpower specsheet, bench are fake as f*ck ! (1103 thrust but with better efficiency... 😅) -2" triblade are the worst possible choice no matter the build weight, keep with biblade or 40mm triblade -I totaly disagree on their being the futur for 75mm whoop, cause to me (and others) they are all about light weight. dual bearing 0802 RCin was working on are way more interesting... if bearings last... -I don't recommend going 2S, weight increase is really noticeable, efficiency isn't better, and 14000kv is just a terrible choice. -Efficiency from these RCinpower just seem to be bad... On my test build with prototype 19000kv T-motor I get 14mn on a sub 20g 1S 1100mAh... -+30g is already too heavy, 25 26g is the sweet spot ! -Toto is a sellout copycat I'm still waiting for T-motor to release their but for now I have many build and tests on my channel already !

Hey Nick! So I got my mobula 1-2s that I have upgraded to the v3 frame to fit 350mah 2s rdq batteries with xt30 lead and connectors to help with sag. Now that I got everything set up and I’m flying, the motors get so hot!! Is it the increase in weight from the connectors and the battery? Or is it getting a good bit more juice and the motors can’t take the time xtra juice? Should I swap to some bigger motors? If so what motors would you recommend me to drop in the mobula 7 v3 frame that will handle it better since I’m only going to fly it with 2s 300/350mah batteries only. Whatcha recommend for motors that will fly hood with that set up and not get hot with still a decent flight time? Also what props would you recommend to pair with it? Give me a couple options on the motors and props for more aggressive vs a little more efficient and longer flights! Thanks nick! You are the best and my go to guy! I suspect the pids need adjustment. When we make frame or weight changes, really most changes from one quad transfered to another we need to adjust pids. The pids will cause the motors to work hard and thus get hot. If we swap motors that might solve it, but also might not.

And how much of a throttle reduction?
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
yes, on a 5amp esc these motors on 2s with biblades pull 9amps on 100% throttle and would burn the 5 amp esc. We have to reduce the throttle or motor output to ensure we don't go over the amount of amps the motors might pull.

That would actually work decently well on 2s 2.5 inch props, you just may need to stick to biblades and possibly limit the output a bit to like 10000kv. I'm guessing on the Mob7 you were 48khz? the stock 802's on that rig are underpowered and 48khz robs it of power...Just looking at how the 1002's fly and my 802, 22k HM's on 24khz, I still think 802 22k 24 wins...but really hard to say...would be interesting to see 1002 on 24khz

I have run these motors on 5am esc, as well as a host of 1102 motors. The prop size is an important part of the amp draw. larger the prop the more the amp draw, I have not flown 1002 or 1102 on larger than 2inch tri blade props.

I wonder how the 22kv motors would work on a 1s 85mm whoop
@NickBurnsFPV2 жыл бұрын
its a bit hard to say as there are many configurations I didn't test. I do think a 2inch triblade is going to be a bit much for the motor, it won't be bad, but if you fly aggressively with flippies and dive and fast turns it might not give the response your looking for.

@@KOrnhOliO1 I suspect that material cost makes up only a small percentage of the overall cost, machining something that small must have its own complication in tolerances and I also suspect the time to manufacture is not too dissimilar to a larger motor resulting in very similar costs of production. I use the word suspect as I have little experience of the commercial side of things, but making something on my lathe that is half the size is nether half as easy, half the time or half the hassle.
