I've been using their series 1s board that requires a full charger, but being able to reliably storage charge my 1s batteries has really seemed to extend their useful life span. This stand alone unit would be even more convenient out on the road! The one big advantage a full featured charger and series board will still have is being able to know exactly how many mah you put back into a pack to recharge it so you can calibrate the aio batt offset for accurate mah used screen display.
@NickBurnsFPV

That is a good point for v4, mah counter per battery. Great thought. Thank you

The 40W input power is a minimum not a maximum! Important for anyone hoping to power it with USB! I thought I'd be able to use my 18W USB Fast Charger for charging at my desk, but it gives you an "Input Low" warning and you need to use 40W min.
@deathpunchrigby1664
@deathpunchrigby1664 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't see the reason to get this compared to their v2. Features-wise, there's almost no difference, except for the addition of a fan. Looks like the v2 is more compact, and only require 30W min, allowing you to use a smaller phone wall charger.

What’s the output specs on your charger? Does it do USB PD? Just this evening I used my little Anker 20W charger to charge up six 450’s at 0.4A. It negotiates up to 9V. Non-PD chargers at 5V do not seem to work.
@VIFLYDrone
@VIFLYDrone Жыл бұрын
@@deathpunchrigby1664 The minimum 40w input we write on the spec is to ensure every port can reach the largest charge current(1.3A), if your input power is lower than 40w , it still can work, you just need to lower the charge current, for example, if input power is 30w, the charge current only can reach 0.9A, hope my explaination is clear.
@VIFLYDrone

The issue is not caused by 18w input power, this is because your USB fast charge protocol is not supported on our charger

I have one of the V1's, I think, without the dial. I think my PH2 connectors are packing it in, I'm moving to BT2/A30 so I'm good there. But I have been looking at this one just in case my current one starts to falter more. Love these things! Just hacked up an old IBM Laptop power supply with an XT60, love the USB C for a power bank too. Big thank you for confirming an A30 battery will connect to these. Having BT2's on all my whoops soon seals the deal on completely dropping PH2, except for a few toy drones for spec'taters. Thanks again for sharing! Cheers!

I’m happy user of v2 and v3 now, and one pretty major cons of v3 I think is that PH2.0 connectiors are on top of the charger instead of having it on the side. In v2 it is a lot more comfortable to connect and disconnect batteries from the sides. So I hope they will do it in v4 😄

I love the v2 it does my 18650s as well (4.2v) I made an adapter. The v3 was not available when I got my v2, but the 4.37v issue you have is not in the v2, and the v3 can charge as high as 1.3A, which is a nice option but as nick found I do most of my charging at .3A from 3.71v to4.35v and that is just enough time for me to get the bats charged when I can fly again.

Ya, that storage charge feature is the reason I bought one of these. 👍 People do need to realize that there is no such thing as 4.35 volt high voltage lipos. Just a game the manufacturers play so your lipos don't last as long and you have to buy them more often. Fact. I charge to 4.2v, get the longest life out of them, and forgo the extra 10- 20 seconds of flight time. It's not worth getting 15 extra seconds if your lipos give you less life overall. Don't be scammed! 😎🤘

The storage charge function is a big win for 1s lipos. We used to us them until they puffed or didn't hardly fly then buy new all over again. maybe that is why we don't see more of these. The battery companies also make the chargers....Maybe?

@@NickBurnsFPV I'm sure you're right! Or, it took a specialty electronics designer to build one with storage charge. I think that's what this company is all about. Found a need for it, and designed and built it. I think mines a V1, but it still has the flat side, rounded top connectors on top. I can't, and don't attempt to try to keep track of these dumb optional connectors for whoops. The PH 2.0 works fine if you get a solid pin one. These other companies trying to AGAIN get us to replace all of our 1s lipos, well, they can just go jump in a lake! Haahaa! To quote xjet - Ph 2.0 "For the Win!" 😜
@NickBurnsFPV
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
@@KOrnhOliO1 The solid pins do last longer, I don't have any sort of measurement. I have read there is potentially an issue with the battery side ph2.0 wearing out due to there connection with solid pin, this could be anecdotal info as well.
