HappyModel Snapper7 - Review

i have a snapper6 and a ur65, both use 17,000kv motors(3-3:30 min. fly time with 250mA battery.) my conclusion is ur65 flies better, but snapper6 does the job too. they are extremely fun for indoor. i crashed my ur65 so many times as i push it to extreme torture and it keeps on flying, not so with snapper6. plastic or aluminum they do make a big different. Man, and if you put turtle mode on that thing, BOOM BAM!!!!!!! highly recommend to anyone who wants to have more stick time and put away that computer simulator.

this was like my second drone after the DJI Tello. where I really got into FPV drones, damn I really had a hard time, hard learning curve. but later to findout I could switch the yaw & roll on the transmitter! Now that it's in pieces, I should rebuild it, upgrade it, need D16 & fly it again. Take care Nick!

Had the snapper for almost 3 months love it to death i do not fly inside outside only and it rips it does bend a bit sometimes on a really hard crash i dont have your experience with these problems you have had maybe some luck but its the best 1s bind n fly ever built hands down

A small backyard and 5mph or less wind works perfect outside. Hoops bend easily and are annoying, but they seem to have less wind resistance than larger plastic frames. Also, I had to update my ESCs and firmware to Betaflight 3.3.3 as my OSD was showing everything but voltage and RSSI...which made it almost pointless. But...once working, a fun little quad.

I got the 6 and 7. The 7 has way more punch and better flight times, the 6 doesn't bend up as easily. The 7 flies great with 250mah batteries but only for 2 min. I need the uruav also just to compare because I love cheap brushless whoops.

Nice Vid Nick! I bought a Rakon frame for mine (better aluminum ) motors didnt fit without modding but no big thing! It flys excellent and is pretty fast in the house.

It's 5A per motor, 8A/4 is 2A per ESC, should be plenty for indoor ripping!

Thank you for confirming that I made a good choice with the UR65, which I ordered right after your review. However, I was still pondering between these two quads and wasn't sure I had made the best choice for me, but now I know. Still the Snapper7 is a sweet quad and one can never have enough quads, right?

For outside I would think the ldarc et 100,115, or 125 would be the way to go as the Ur65 seems to be the best for indoor. Per your and others advice.

I wouldn't disagree with that. In this case I was only attempting to compare the snapper and UR. Mainly due to so many questions about outside flight with both, and the snapper 6 which I don't have.

I used same frame nick but cut out the aluminium and just used mounting plate with longer screws works much better good review by the way . I would tell everyone not to buy not worth the money i think the dam qx 65 i bought flys and works better

Try screws from Rakonheli they have enough M1 ones with their frames. And on the base they have the same frames.

on the betaflight the channel 5 don't go in yellow when i use it .... there must be something wrong ...

does the switch move? And what is channel 5 set to ....arm? If arm and usb plugged in it won't go yellow. Betaflight has arming disabled on newer versions of betaflight.

Switch not move on Betaflight for channel 5 switch D but it move and come yellow for channel 6 ...Even with Battery only green light blinking and never go fixed as it must be , trim throttle is -100 ... i will do a video to let you see

I watched the video. I would also need to see betaflight modes tab at the same time to know what is going on. If channel 6 moves in betaflight what aux channel is that? And have you matched the radio mixer settings to what channel 6 is?

Nick Burns Yeah, I was thinking to possibly fill in and re-drill motor holes. I'm assuming (still not here yet) the Snapper has 4 hole motors? and the UAV65 frames only have 3. Lol oh well at least I'll have something to build on. I ended up with the same package of 2 frames that you have. I could always grab a set of motors assuming the FC and camera are a straight swap. That UAV65 certainly does move. Awesome vids! Thanks for the hard work. Ok I just rewatched the video and see it's three holes. I'll beat the Snapper to death first and then decide on what to do with the innards.

you are missing 3 screws lol one on the bottom too. i have the same one and i snapped a screw off. fixed it with shoe goo works great now lol.

Looks like Snapper 7 can maintain altitude indoors easier than UR 65, is that right? I'm really confused about which one to get.

What you might be seeing is battery sag, I would compare the first min of each flight. The snapper is carrying a much larger battery, therefore it will sag later in the flight. If you plan to fly more outdoor than indoor then the snapper7, but if the reverse UR65.

Yup. I got mine with 3.4 installed. I flashed 3.5.7 and it became an entirely different beast. Much, much better.

I don't believe so. I have been working with others on the issue. We can decrease the severity and the frequency through decreasing dshot. We are thinking it has something to do with component wear and the dshot sensitivity.

Bought one from Hobbyking, on sale for $29.99 USD (quad only) came in with defective board, only 3 motors running good, the 4th one cogging.... switched motor to confirm they are all good, & they are... Hobbyking is asking me to return to HK Warehouse, for which they don't have in stock anymore, & I do have to cover they freight, I guess this one's going to trash... :(

Mine came with vtx default band 6 channel 8, 5800M which unfortunately not supported by my goggle. On the manual it says the freq can be changed by a button but I couldn't even find the button on the vtx even under a mag glass lol. Anyone kind enough to point me to the right direction? Thanks!

take the camera out of the canopy to change the bands and channel. The button is on the top of the camera/vtx.

first we have to setup the radio for a channel 5, we do this in the mixer page of the radio config. Then set that switch in betaflight on the modes tab. There is much to much to cover typing. Hi Nick! If you still want to change the Frame ... this one works without modding: m.banggood.com/Bwhoop75-75mm-Brushless-Tiny-Whoop-Frame-Kit-for-Indoor-FPV-RC-Drone-p-1291714.html You only need 3 really small screws, a few of the black nuts (for distance/from the Snapper) and a tiny little hole at the back of the canopy (otherwise the head of the third screw doesn`t fit) Happy flying! :-)

GrumpyMadman i agree with you i put all my parts on a plastic frame and it flys much better now if they would have made the carbon hold the motor for the base and aluminium just for the gaurd would have been fine . I had prob with mine out of the box and i paid 123 dollars on amazon so you can imagine why im not happy . The fc is faulty in it also none of the motors would spin up when armed .i had to tottaly redo everything on it to work propperly . Its more like the ur 65 now
