It was both GT7 and GT8 :-) and your right brother modest / safe is a great description. Neither one i reviewed are bad by any means and have good cameras but lack the punch or speed of the Beta 7x or the Mobula7 . The GT8 is close to the 75's but lacks the punch when coming out of a flip or roll. Also very low fixed angle so you look at the ground a lot when running at any speed. They are good for a pilot that for some reason wants a 2s that flys like a powerful 1s or lets say a more likely indoor outdoor candidate.

@@FPVMgunit13 I'm using 2S batteries on my 75X. I have a rate profile setup in BF that essentially reduces total throttle to 75% of original. That way much easier to control in small space. Nick, you said something really interesting that caught my attention. You said that the Beta75X suffers from washout but the Mobula does not. I'm very interested in why you think this is. I can't figure out the cause of washout but have been trying to tune it out of my Beta75Pro.
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
I won't say I know for certain. It would take more components and individual testing. I have seen reports(a few, but not many) that changing the prop rotation in helps, and increase throttle idle and additional pid/tuning. I have yet to see extensive display of "fixed" yaw washout. If I said the mobula7 doesn't that's a bit off, it rarely has it, and we have to try to cause it with exceptionally poor dive management.
@JoshWithrow6 жыл бұрын
@@NickBurnsFPV I appreciate the response. I changed the prop direction from IN to OUT, and I am running an increased idle % (6.5%). Admittedly, when I dive, I like to point STRAIGHT DOWN like I do with my 5" kwads, and I know that it's a no no for the ducted micros... but I'm just trying to push the envelope. One thing I've had a hard time nailing down is the exact causes of some of these behaviors. It seems that micros need ALOT more I than their larger brethren to truly stabilize them, and I'm sure power (aka components) have alot to do as well because the power to weight ratio just isn't there. But just picking thru with stock components because that's what most people are interested in (myself included).
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
power/prop could be a large factor. I find the washout right at the end, if we pull out a big sooner and apply our throttle at that time, washout becomes less dramatic or nonexistent.

nearly 4mins or so. I would recommend watching the review video kzbin.info/www/bejne/mojWd3Shrqp6prc

Hey Nick first off thanks for the videos and making up my decision to buy the mobula7. I m a total noob and unfortunately live in a small area. so taming the beast took a lot of crashes. But once you tame it its a nice flyer for sure! I have a few tips, i did break the frame in one spot and couldn't buy the welders adhesive since amazon doesn't ship to Canada. but with a clear masking tape 3/4" cut in the middle and about 1 inch long fixes the frame like nothing happened. Quick and cheap. also the red battery holder doesn't keep the batteries too snug , once again cut the clear tape enough to go inside and wrap it up 5-10 times. does the trick. Where can i buy these batteries in Canada, Ontario? Also, I should be receiving aomway goggles soon, how to connect to the drone? sorry noob here
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
The process to connect your goggles to the quad is actually easier than you might think Especially if you fly alone. Simply hit the button to auto scan. I don't recall which button it is, I just gave away my commander goggles. I do believe its a long press to get it to auto scan. The manual I believe covers it. I have heard tape works well. I have tried it before, more than a year ago. The trouble I believe I had with it was the tape was tearing. Could have been cheap tape. Getting more batteries shouldn't be to bad. You don't have to get the one with the battery wires. Get typical 1s batteries. In canada I would see what www.snhobbies.com/ has. I do believe they are in Canada.

@@NickBurnsFPV Thank you Nick. A quick question; for some strange reason the green wire from the camera got cut in the middle from the prop? no idea how it got to the prop in the first place. I soldered it in the middle and use shrink tubing. Should this be fine ? or does the wire have to be continuous with solder in the middle ?
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
it will be fine. I had to do the same on my yellow wire. Be sure to move the wires from underneath the camera and put a slim piece if tape or foarm tape on the board under the camera. I think its the impact to the canopy hitting the wires causing them to get cut.

the wait is the worst, really bad in the case of the mobula 7, US shops placing orders and everyone else too. Hot seller it is.

Is it possible to fly these things without practicing in a real simulator? I have some experience with aerial photography, but you can’t compare that to FPV racing/freestyle.. I am thinking about buying a mobula 7. Another question: how do I determine wether or not a radio is compatible? (I have a Futaba T10J (+receiver) laying around and I can’t find anything on that. Edit: I tried an acro mode simulator, but that is just a mobile game :/ (Still quite difficult in the beginning.)
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
I didn't learn on a simulator, its best to get something slower and more durable to start otherwise we spend a good about of time and money, not flying. I have no experience with futaba radios in the last 10years. I wouldn't expect anything more than 5-6yrs old to be compatible with current day receivers. A flysky fsi6 radio isn't fancy but works normally and can be purchased for ~$50. Or even the frsky x lite for about ~$100. Most radios run a particular "procotol" frsky radio needs an frsky receiver....etc. The one exception is the jumper series of radios they have multi-protocol built in.

Thank you for replying! I really appreciate it. Isn’t a whoop basically the most durable option that is available? And it can’t do serious damage if it crashes. the Mobula7 works with 1s AND 2s..so if 1S gets boring at some point I can switch to 2s. Are there better options?
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
@@among-us-99999 yes and no, whoops are generally the safest option, but these 2s whoops are less safe than traditional brushed 1s whoops. And again yes and no, the mobula7 isn't as durable as the betafpv products.

I got the mob7 One of my motors just stopped working. I switched its contact to the FC with one of the working ones and it started working. So is my FC Motor plug broke? How can I get this thing flying again? Thanks for any help!
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
check the pins on the connector, maybe one or more got bent? If the esc on that port is dead or damaged we have to replace the board, this is the downside of these all in one board :(
@spacecooookie6 жыл бұрын
@@NickBurnsFPV i don't know how to find out if just the plug is broken or if the board is. I could replace that connector. But there is no visable damage on it. But tbh I don't understand how the Platine can die.. The chip itself is fine. So it it wheather the connector or the Platine itself... Have less then 1 flyinghour... :/
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
if the pins in the connector look straight and are still connected the connector and pins are likely fine, but this means the esc for that motor is damaged or dead. The only fix in that case is to replace the board. When you crash be sure to disarm quickly. If the motor gets bound or wraps up hairs or other like debris this causes a voltage spike which can damage the esc.

What is the best/preferred whoop as of October 2019?
@NickBurnsFPV5 жыл бұрын
that is a tough question. The mobula7 is still good, newbeedrone should have a new one coming out. I tend to put parts together for my favorite. 1102 1000kv motors, gemfan triblade props, trashcan frame, with mobula 7 canopy, fc and camera/vtx

Why don't they make any for DSM or dsm2
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
I believe this has to do with business struggles with Horizon Hobby. I believe Horizon owns spektrum and are fairly litigious. They want official spektrum gear on RTFs $$$$. Just some bits I have heard on the interwebs.

Mobula available at www..xt-xinte.com. it's $80 to $90 there. I think you may be wrong about the LDARC GT7/8. I am at least intrested in their NEW 0804 & 0803 motors.
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
scan the comments here, one person who has flown them agreed to some extent or another. The motors and really the frame could be good components for a custom whoop. I should have clarified my comments as referring to the rtf.

3 or 4 blades??
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
If the quad comes with 4 I fly them, if they come with three I fly em. I don't get super fussed with stuff like that. I suspect if you have a direction to an achievement one might be better on some quads than others.
@paulterl45636 жыл бұрын
@@NickBurnsFPV My Eachine US65 went with the 3 blades on and the 4 as spares. Is for this that maybe I have dome this comment here. With the ducted Dys Elf I've enjoiyed the 5 leafs/blades ones. In the past I have made more than one 3 vs. 4, and 2 vs. 3 blades video test for my channel. My take, right now, is that most of the time more blades are better for the stability of the craft, but they eat more current. Ultimately I have observed that the most of quads have gone from 2 to 3 blades. Or 4. I was just curious... Sorry, if I bothered you with another , maybe for you, silly question. Anyway, danke for your replay. Bybye.
