@dcd exactly. I started with some lame cheap Segway. But then you understand that with all gear and tripod any hill will become impossible to climb, any bump you'll feel with your spine, and you can't go further than 10-15 miles. Cheap scooters are soo limiting. And good expensive ones will help you big way

ı LOVE this video man. I love your obsession to little details, the way you view the signs and stores and the meaning they have for you. Like that is just so... I don't know, interesting. This is the type of interest and ambition I want to have for my own photography too. Even if it's not stores and signs, I'm hoping to have such interest in a form of subject too one day, and be able to capture its essence with my own camera. Really enjoyed this video and LOVE the photography!!! (Never used this KZbin "Thanks!" thins, but I wanted to show how meaningful this video was for me and how it motivates me.) Much love

The subtle, dry delivery of the thinking man’s sightgags are becoming such a finely-tuned calling card. And the cinematography with the camera across the street on location was next level. (part of me wishes you had also put that frame on film - the lighting in the window was so good). Great video

"six episodes into your fifth rewatching of The Office" instead of progressing your photography career... frickin ouch man, I felt that one. A bunch! This episode was such a blast to watch. You're quite the entertainer there, Nick. Had me chuckling all through the 26 minutes. Not at your photos though, obviously.. And the attention to detail is spot on. Like when you went to get more cream and cut to - wait for it - not your own kitchen but what turned out to be a shop window. Blind. Mown. Cheers from cold dark Sweden!

Thank you for doing this, I grew up in Orange County I spent the first 18 years of my life in a 3bdrm 1bath house off chapman and magnolia. Ive been meaning to get off my ass and photograph the places and scenes of my childhood/teenage adventures/first car/first job...symbols of my life before today. but I let the depression and the self loathing and whatever else lull me back to uncreative version of who I don't want to be. thanks for the inspiration.

I've come to really enjoy your videos Nick. This one brings back many memories. I remember doing a photo shoot with the famous burlesque performer and vintage fashion icon, Dita Von Teese, at a beautifully restored home from the 30's or 40's. It was just off Chapman in the area your're shooting here. The wife of a fan of hers contacted her about a birthday present of a photoshoot with her husband's beloved vintage auto from the 40's. One of the things I wanted to do, but just got too busy to do it, was document homes and businesses around SoCal. Primarily Orange and Huntington Beach. Hard to do when going to school and working full time.

You may doubt your images all day long but man, your video storytelling skills are something else. Wide shot, no other camera in view. Cut to over-the-shoulder, no witness cam. Back to wide, just you. The kitchen reveal. Cutting right as the cars enter frame to show us the tricky timing and awareness required. Wide angle while sitting in the study, emphasizing the personal development gained from the book (could have shot long from outside the door, but didn't). All while firing off dry jokes left and right.

I always look forward to new videos from you. The humor with the scooter at the beginning kind of set the tone. The series is pretty cool and I look forward to seeing (over lengthy time and patience on both our parts) how it turns out. I am with you on the 50% split in the two images. Where I differ with you is in the idea that a second attempt at 16.5 will yield the perfect result. Some things just can't be accomplished by splitting the difference. The digital guy in me turns to LR to solve those problems, because like you I am an impatient artist. 🤣
