The Japanese are all about honor and respect. They take losing in stride. As long as you play fair, your opponent will respect you and never be a sore loser. To my understanding, a lot of the Japanese citizens disliked Hirohito.
@CrankyConniver8 ай бұрын
@@nahor88 This is an absolutely wild and uninformed comment. The Japanese loved Hirohito as they believed him to be a figure close to their God. Also, Hirohito didn't really have a major decision making role in the war and was mostly controlled by the general Hideki Tojo. And that whole thing about Japanese culture and "taking losing in stride" really makes me think your knowledge about Japan comes from anime and a propaganda poster.

I wish you would have said the final price of the cow lol, but if it was around 2500 yen per kg, and the cow was about 800 lbs, that would be around $12,000 USD. Which is quite expensive for a whole cow but definitely worth it when you look at the quality of the meat. The way they are fed and everything is crazy. I understand more as to why it is so expensive now.
@Mana-us6nw8 ай бұрын
That is like $7 a pound which is really good. Cattle here in the U.S costs between $6-10 per pound + you have to pay a processing fee. Also your math is incorrect lol, 800 pounds is 362 kg. 362 kg * 2500 yen is 905,000 yen. 905,000 yen to USD is $5,900. It seems like buying Wagyu in Japan is actually pretty affordable. They hike the prices up to $500 a pound when they ship it to the US.

Damn! This was from 5 months ago so I’m guessing the contest is way over! I had an A5 Waygu filet last year while on vacation in Amsterdam. I’m 68 and have been a steak lover all my life. I thought that I had had some of the best steaks you could eat, that is until I had that Waygu last year. My god! What an experience! Watching this video brings it all back! So glad I found this video!
