They do have catchy songs tho and they have a good lead singer but there is a huge difference between good music and music that sounds good. Nickleback isn't the worst band I've ever heard and they certainly aren't generic but they are kinda bland. Despite that its still ear candy. Nickleback has not only managed to earn the title of “the world’s most hated band,” but they’ve done it while being extremely successful. That's because it's a meme. Am I a fan of nickleback? Nope. Why? Because they aren't any different from 3 doors down and shine down when it comes to their sound. Only unique thing I see in this band is the singer's voice.

I think part of it is because this song was really overplayed after it came out in 2001. Same is true with other songs of theirs. There were way less options for listening to music compared to 2022, and radio stations and MTV played this song over and over.
