As a single dad and soldier, I've been there with my own situation. Although I didn't even give adoption a thought, I have been to the point of wanting to "end it all" so I know and feel this very deeply. My son is now 19 and I am so proud of the young man he is. I didn't think we would make it a lot of times, but here we are and I wouldn't trade my son for anything on earth.

I absolutely love this song. My dad was a huge Nickleback fan. He passed away in 2014 and this song became really popular and it was meant to be, because my sister and I made a DVD of photos for him and dedicated this song to him. Thank you Nickleback. Heather i feel for you. My mother passed in 2014 as well. November 19th to be specific. My sister and I chose two songs that were dear to our mother. Moni Moni by Billy Idol and Picture by Kid Rock. This song gets me in tears because I had just finished cooking and turned off my stove. I got a call on my phone from her home number. I figured it was her because she called everyday to chat, but instead I get the voice of my neighbor yelling as much as she can to understand saying "You gotta get to the house! You gotta get to the house!" She wouldn't explain why until I yelled back asking what the fuck is going on. "YOUR MOTHER PASSED!" the worst 3 words I have ever heard in my life. Even repeating them whether its in my head or typing just kills me. I currently live in her home now taking care of our pets, the home itself, and my step father.

Hello everyone, and most importantly Nickelback! Probably nobody is going to read this but I still feel like sharing this message. I just came back from university after failing with my thesis, because I was extremely lazy and could not finish it in time. I know that it is quite a weak excuse, but this laziness is one of my biggest disadvantage within me and always causes me a lot of self-doubt and despair. I am catholic so I absolutely resent suicide, but this time it hurt me so bad that I literally was too close of doing it. Then suddenly, this song just popped up in my mind, so I came here to listen to it. I've known it for years but I think I only understood now what it represents. It literally pulled me back from the edge, so much so that while listening, I started crying, something that I just haven't been able to do in years. This band don't deserve the hate they get on the internet, because this is how you do REAL good with the World. Keep on rocking Nickelback and a million THANK YOU! And also thank you, in case you read all this. :)

This song literally saved my life as well. My mom passed away while serving in the military when I was 7. And my dad instantly turned to the bottle and became abusive. When I was 13 I decided that I couldn't take it anymore. After 2 years of cutting and going through depression, I planned to kill myself. But I was listening to music on my ipod one last time, and this song came on. And it gave me hope. So the next day at school. I finally told one of the teachers, who was a good friend of my mom's and who I trusted. I went into foster care for a while before a cousin of my mom's, whom I had never met before, adopted me and my brother. And he raised with pure love, and nothing else. Now I'm 19 and finishing my first year of college. I love this song and I listen to it every day when I wake up, because it literally gets me through the day. Thank you Nickelback for this beautiful song.

I know the feeling Of finding yourself stuck out on the ledge And there ain't no healing From cuttin' yourself with the jagged edge I'm tellin' you that it's never that bad And take it from someone who's been where your at You're laid out on the floor and you're not sure You can take this anymore So just give it one more try With a lullaby And turn this up on the radio If you can hear me now I'm reachin' out to let you know That you're not alone And you can't tell, I'm scared as hell 'Cause I can't get you on the telephone So just close your eyes Well honey here comes a lullaby Your very own lullaby Please let me take you Out of the darkness and into the light 'Cause I have faith in you That you're gonna make it through another night Stop thinkin' about the easy way out There's no need to go and blow the candle out Because you're not done, you're far too young And the best is yet to come So just give it one more try With a lullaby And turn this up on the radio If you can hear me now I'm reachin' out to let you know That you're not alone And you can't tell, I'm scared as hell 'Cause I can't get you on the telephone So just close your eyes Well honey here comes a lullaby Your very own lullaby Well everybody's hit the bottom And everybody's been forgotten Well everybody's tired of being alone Yeah everybody's been abandoned And left a little empty handed So if you're out there barely hangin', on Just give it one more try With a lullaby And turn this up on the radio If you can hear me now I'm reachin' out to let you know That you're not alone And you can't tell, I'm scared as hell 'Cause I can't get you on the telephone So just close your eyes Well honey here comes a lullaby Your very own lullaby Well honey here comes a lullaby Your very own lullaby

I want you to know that this song has impacted me. I remember when i first actually HEARD the lyrics and actually understood it. It floored me and I was in amazement at how incredibly well written the song is. Because I can tell by the way y'all sing this one that it comes from a place if deep, personal understanding. That you have gone through something so similar. And I'm just in awe. Any time someone is experiencing ideations, i send them your song. Because i know how deeply it touched me. Thank you for putting this out there for others to grab on to, to find the strength to endure and to keep going.

He's had a lot of problems. If I'm remembering correctly he was molested as a kid had financial as well as drug issues throughout his life. On top of all that he was depressed which typically will lead to a lot of thoughts of despair and self pity while pushing away positive thoughts. Life isn't as simple as the fantasy that if your rich you'll be happy. Sure, people in poverty are having it tough, but there are plenty of people outside that range that are far from being called rich that are perfectly happy (and typically on average are happier than the rich. Lot's of reasons why that could be).

I grew up listening to Nickelback and I’ve heard it’s one of the most hated bands ever. I don’t care what anyone else says, their songs are so meaningful instead of just being about sex, drugs or a breakup this song is about holding on to the goodness in life. I actually didn’t notice this particular song and the video but I’ve listened to their other music on repeat like Savin Me which I find holds a meaningful message too. That paying it forward can save a life and the human capacity for goodness. Nickelback songs always stay with me, I teared up watching and listening to this one.

When you step into the age of Puberty or Adolescence, u may want to leave ur parents and just live alone! Bt have u ever thought how much u needed ur mom when u were a neonate or infant? When she ceased to be and oh! The differance to us! Just watch this and I bet it will make u cry for sure! If u don't cry on this, u r really gonna be punks! So be on ur sense and plz watch this! and I love nickelback and ma dad too! The y soo keen at expression their sense of awe at love and parental care! The dad in this video implies us that he wasn't capable enough to get mingled with the thoughts of the little baby and at last he could manage to get through all these hard circumstances in order to expel the child from his future becoming bleak!!! So this song is such an amazing contradictory form of song which has made it a way too sensitive for the people who watch this!!! Enjoy the mayo!

it's not a trend. hatred for nickelback stems from how middle of the road they are, there's nothing unique or trademarkish about them, if you draw up a manual of what your standard rock band should comprise of, then Nickelback is your ideal reference, they're too by the formula when what people crave these days is a passion and brand and DISTINCTION. If I was asked to write an essay about this band and their success, my very succinct summation would be "2-3 three catchy ditty at the right time and with the right market catapulted and maintain a run of the mill garage rockers."
@EyewitnessHistoryChannel9 жыл бұрын
Luster TJ most music is 'middle of the road' mate. Nickelback is unique in many ways - explain how a band becomes distinct? Because when I hear Nickelback, I'll know it.
