Nickelback has released its 10th studio album, Get Rollin'. To mark the occasion, lead singer Chad Kroeger and guitarist Ryan Peake sat down with Tom Power to talk about the band's induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the people who backed them from day one and the song that launched a thousand memes: Photograph.

If anyone asks me what my favorite song is I always say How You Remind Me. Silver Side Up was the first album I bought and as a kid I played that CD until it caught fire. I would sing that song in my head to try and help me fall asleep I loved it so much. The vocals, guitar, drums and bass all have their own flair that created one of the most memorable songs for me at least. Have loved Nickelback since day one and always will. Live and let rock!

I saw these guys in a small club in Chattanooga Tennessee….They did a meet and greet afterword and I wish I still had the poster they signed (this was in I wanna say 2000) they were nice as could be and so unassuming….who knew that 3 years after that they would be the biggest band in the world

Never understood the hatred. Not really my favourite band but the hatred is/was so over the top that it seemed to be more of a reflection on the small-minded haters than on Nickelback. Keep rocking guys.

You can tell how these guys are handling themselves, not to mention their song-writing, that they’re truly the last of the great, melodic, good-time, rock bands. They get it, and remember what music USED to be like, and about. I just listened to Dark Horse, and their lyrics could’ve been on a Van Halen record. Very David Lee Roth. You can tell who their influencers are. GREAT songwriters, and great guys. Now it’s self-loathing, entitled, professional-victim, punks who short of talking about how much their lives suck, now they’re making their bullsh*t political statements. And, that folks is what music is about today. Well done, single-parents/education system……well-f**king done.

It amazes me how gentlemanly and clean spoken both of them are in most interviews and the contrast that CK portrays onstage with his vulgar inappropriate language in front of young impressionable fans who come to their shows with their parents now. He clearly shows he can control his language but has NO muffler onstage. I bet that Ryan as a father cringes at Todd’s words and behaviour as well as his band mates. Band makes some Great music although some song I won’t listen to. I think the new album is Gold though. I think Ryan ( from what I have witnessed ) comes across as a quality person both onstage and in the media. Chad could learn a thing or 2 from him.

They are all fathers except for Chad. You don't take a kid to a rock show and not expect them not to hear an "F" bomb. That's not how it works. As a parent you have to know more about a band and their catalog of songs before you decide to take a young impressionable fan. Chad writes a majority of the lyrics to all of their songs. Listen to: If Everyone Cared, If Today Was You Last Day, Lullaby, When We Stand Together, and Someday to name a few and tell me he's not a quality person. The depth in those songs is unmatched.

That's just the way society is getting. Cussing is more and more the norm. Places like KZbin don't even bother bleeping it. For some reason people think it's cool to cuss. Everyone can easily do it so I don't understand what's so cool about it.

They are just words! Censoring words is extremely stupid and very few countries do it. I bet most 8year olds know more curse words that you do, who cares?! There are way worse things they could be doing, get your priorities straight.

Saw them live in Mansfield ma this summer and had the best time ever! Haven’t seen anyone this good since queen in Boston many years ago. These guys r REAL! I add them to my all time fav list of zep, abb, queen, Santana, and rhcp. Keep on getting it up guys!

Love these interviews! I did not view photograph as a country type song more on the lines of Def Lep and those days definitely more on the lines of Guns and roses… but what was interesting was Motley Crue came to mine and then Chad quoted a song I have had on my playlist recently…. I guess I am from the same time period and the nostalgia of that time is coming back or continuing on…. Greatly enjoy the humility humor and love for what they do. Their music is right there for me of all my favs and maybe more because of the diversity and longevity! I love leader of men and hope they play that In wheatland ca this summer (please please!). Thanks for doing what you do Nickelback!!!!
