As someone who was around when the nickelback hate began, it seemed to be guys who were jealous that women liked their music, and men also liked their music, and teenage boys were too insecure to admit they liked it too. So basically, they were a victim of -actual- toxic masculinity where little boys were too insecure to admit they enjoyed it.

They were on rock radio when rock music started to fragment into different groups, none of them large enough to support rock stations, who then started closing by the droves. Then some comedian made a joke about Nickleback sucking, so it became fashionable to say that they sucked, kind of like it was fashionable to pile on Uwe Boll for movie critics. The Nickleback ripoff bands that followed didn't help. Nor did the fact Chad Kroger is boring as Hell as a person.

Third favourite song on the album right after Get 'em up and Edge of a Revolution. Nickelback has some of the most fun bass lines I've ever played. I have to say Nickelback is one of my favourite bands to cover and listen to. I don't understand how someone can hate their music. I find their music great, fun to hit the gym with and great to play; A combination you don't often find nowadays.
