Early to mid 1980s Nickelodeon is the period I remember most fondly. They still didn't have many original shows to fill their timeslots, so in addition to You Can't Do That on Television, they had several other Canadian, British and other-network shows I liked. These shows included 'What Will They Think of Next?', 'The Third Eye', the original 'Tomorrow People', 'Danger Mouse', etc.

What shows that was adored on Nickelodeon?: Inspector Gadget was Nickelodeon's most-adored cartoon in the 80's and 90's, with clips of the show appearing in some of the channel's promos. Looney Tunes on Nickelodeon was also treated this way. Back in the mid-to-late 90's, Garfield and Friends was adored more than any other syndicated show, airing twice a day and getting promoted often. This is justified, as Nickelodeon's reruns of the show were often ranked in the top 10 shows among kids 2-11, at one point getting ratings on par with Power Rangers on FOX Kids. Tiny Toon Adventures was another acquired favorite of Nickelodeon, often airing for an hour each day. Like Garfield, it also got ratings that were so huge that they surpassed those of other Nicktoons like Rocko's Modern Life and Doug. Muppet Babies (1984) was another one of Nickelodeon's favorite acquired shows. They ran it for almost a decade, and ran it multiple times a day, both on afternoons and as one of the fixtures of Nick Jr. in the days before Blue's Clues.
