This is the same trap most licensed games fall into, where they count on the mere presence of the character(s) being enough for fans to fork over their money. Lots of parents will buy this for lots of kids. Personally I'd rather have half the number of playable characters with all of them fully voiced and animated.

I’ve played it for a few hours so far and I gotta say I had a blast with it! The challenges reward you the perfect amount by not giving you too many or too little rewards. You also have to complete several to unlock a character which adds a sense of accomplishment. This game has plenty of unlockables, characters, and tracks that make this game fun to 100%. My only problems are the lack of voice acting and characters like Jimmy Neutron and Timmy Turner not being present which just seemed like a no brainer. I would definitely recommend getting this on the PS4 or X Box over the switch version for that higher frame rate and the addition of achievements and trophies on x box and ps4 which gives you even more to collect. Although, if you would really rather play it on the go, then I guess you should go for the switch version. For me personally, I give it an 8/10. A must for any Nickelodeon fan.

I own every Mario Kart game in the series & just bought this game last week, but for my Xbox One X cause I need more games on that console. I finished all of the Grand Prix Cups as well as the challenges. I never played the first game, but this game looks like a massive improvement & I love it much more than I thought I would. I bought my copy at Walmart for $34 which is a great price for what you get. I've tried online mode a couple of times, but only found one person so far. I really hope voices will eventually be added as that's my only major complaint about the game.

I never considered picking up the first game. It didn't look good at all. However, this sequel appears to have made several improvements. I'll keep an eye on it and might pickup if we get a good sale in the future.

I think this game is really good! It has a lot of potential and always kept my attention throughout each hectic race I was in! Although GameMill probably won't do much to enhance the game itself, let's hope something will happen to give this game a better future.

Ugh I was so curious about this one with it sounding like they’d iron out a lot of the issues the first one had. No voice acting and recycling the same few animations is disappointing. I wonder if it's like a union issue that they can't include the voices. I mean otherwise Nick/Viacom should have the raw voice acting clips of past episodes and should just be able to pull from that. Nintendo often doesn't record new audio for characters and just reuses old clips and it's perfectly fine.

Nickelodeon is my favorite film/show company. I loved many shows from Nickelodeon and loved playing many nicktoon games. Seeing Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix, it convinces me to go buy it and just race against other characters after seeing the visuals, creativity, more characters and tracks. I'd highly recommend picking this game up if you're into racing games, nickelodeon shows, nickelodeon games and the nickelodeon characters.

What do you mean? There are more tracks, a lot more characters, graphics look better, driving is better, boating and gliding is gone, drifting feels better, there's a lot of single player content and unlocks, there's online. Voice acting was the only feedback that wasn't addressed.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Crash Team Racing, and Sonic Team Racing have set a ridiculously high bar for kart racers on the Switch. There's so much potential here with Nickelodeon IPs to make a great, even nostalgic, kart racer for all ages. Kind of disappointed.

What the developers dont understand is that Mario Kart doesn't NEED voice acting because its characters don't usually talk (verbally) and aren't known for their colorful dialog. If you're going to use cartoon characters in your Kart racer then you completely miss the point of the CHARACTER part by making them all silent mutes. Heck even MK has grunts and yells. This was just the publisher being too damn cheap to spring for paying voice actors. Period. One step forward and two steps back. I really hope that rumored Audio update is true.

Great game! Missing the voice acting, with this it could've been great. Online on Switch is pretty hit n miss with people being on but yeah, I enjoy this game quite a bit. Challenge mode was a blast!

I'm here as a Playstation owner and I needed to watch a review for this game. I own almost (if not all) Kart racing games on this and previous generation of consoles and I must say the first NL Kart Racer was the Worst Kart game I've ever played. I don't see anything particularly interesting or different from the previous game to make me buy this game, even for 10€. Some tracks are remixed versions of the first game (from the footage I saw) and it seems that it controls bad like the first game. Thank you for showing more of this game :)

The game changer, not just from the previous game but from other kart racers in general, is the pit crew system. It doesn't control bad at all. Only 4/28 tracks come from the previous game and they've had big changes. This is one of the most negative reviews. You can watch other reviews if you'd like, but if you play so many kart racers, I'd absolutely recommend not to miss this one. Especially not because of its association with the first game.

Wrong assumptions Turtle PM. I borrowed this from library and played it for week and at this moment. It is a great improvement from the first which had bad controls and made me dizzy for some reason. New mechanics give you more power ups, options, and feeling of speed. Get it on sale by far.

CEL-Shaded, or a mix of CEL-shading with 2D and 3D animations and backgrounds seems like a missed opportunity for a cartoon racer. Especially show related race tracks and environments. Crayola Scoot meets NickToons art style would have been cool. Maybe animation scenes from the shows for the backgrounds of the tracks with voice acting and an animated story mode.

Having just played for the first time, this was a very good review and hard to disagree with any of it. I'd add that it's difficult to build up momentum because of the use of rubber banding keeping all racers close together, being hit repeatedly by weapons that you can't avoid is more frustrating than fun and the drifting is not as tight at CTR or MK 8. Having said that it's harsh to compare this to the greatest kart racer of all time. The voice acting evident in sonic team racing was missing here and as this review said that's important. I didn't feel I was enjoying myself as much as I'd hoped but on my final course I played I got that satisfaction of being out ahead taking every corner correctly so maybe you just need to find the right steering/ drift mix. Overall big improvement on previous game. Colourful, engaging and I'd say worth the price.

I'm gonna save my money for that inevitable Capcom Kart Racer. Who wouldn't want to race with the Resident Evil gang, Ominusha crew, or Street Fighters. Speeding down tracks in Racoon City, feudal Japan, or anywhere else in the world. Devil May Cry, Mega-man, or Frank West and the rest of the Dead Rising cast. You know what I'm saying...come on Capcom, do it. DO IT!

I feel like the main reason it doesn't have voice acting is become of how fast paced the racing can get, as someone who's played Mario Kart Wii I can 100% assure you that "HEY IM DAISY" will drive you kinda insane at times. And if the whole cast was talking it'd just be a mess with all the cues and voice cutoffs and overlap. The music and kart design could use some definite improvements tho

Not a bad game for those that don’t own a Nintendo console and want a Mario kart version of the game for the Microsoft or Sony Consoles. Some improvements I’d like to see in the future are 1.)Character Voice acting !!! This game lacks in personality via characters, which makes it seem like all characters are the same and just alternative skins. 2.)More Powerups and customization 3.)Bonus DLC Characters maybe from the more popular shows like TMNT and Spongebob. I can see them adding characters like •Casey Jones •Kraang •Leatherhead •Metalhead •TigerClaw •Mr Krabs •The Flying Dutchman •Potty the Parot •Mermaid Man •Barnacle Boy •Etc..

Despite not having voice acting, there is actually a lot of care for the IPs. Over 100 characters overall, every kart part and challenge is a nod to something, hints have character quotes or references. This review mentions none of that.
