The 1989 NRHS Convention

Assault On Asheville, Trains That Rule The Mountains documents the entire 1989 NRHS Convention that took place in July of 1989. NKP 587, N&W 1218, N&W 611 & NS Diesel power are included operating various trips for the Convention.
This show shares the same title as another Program all about '89 NRHS Convention made by Berkshire Productions. The Berkshire show covers 4 of the runs of the convention, while the Trackside Video show covers nearily if all of the Convention.

This program was made by the long defunct Trackside Video, A video company operated from 1987 until 2008 out of Lake Forest, Georgia & has been lost for 31 years. Most if not all of the Trackside Video programs are lost media and are hard to find.

After seeing videos by Greg Scholl and Berkshire, and now seeing this one by Trackside, I think the best way to describe all three videos of the 1989 NRHS convention would be to call them the The 1989 NRHS Trilogy..or something along those lines

I don't recall 587 having a different whistle from her nkp 5 chime, except for that n&w whistle from 382

587 has worn 2 NKP 5 Chimes (It's original whistle, [worn from 1918 until 1989 when it was retired.] & the whistle off of NKP H-6d Mikado 624 [worn from 1991 until 2002.] It also wore the whistle off of N&W 382 for the 1989 NRHS Convention as depicted in this video.
