A bumper episode of #Foulkes&Sons in which Max learns that #cognac is made in #France and can be quite strong but not made with spiders’ legs. We taste the truly spectacular #Bolivar #Belicoso #Reserva - all the more remarkable as neither of us usually favour the stronger, sorry fuller flavoured, cigar, but we make an exception in this case for a genuinely excellent #Havana .
I recall boarding the @hinecognacs private jet to fly to the #Charente for a memorable tasting of cognac and cigars with the late Nick Freeman who only that morning had taken delivery of a very smart new cashmere blazer from his tailor. Max expatiates on the excellence of his charity shop bought Persols and we use the Ferranti collection #guillotine cigar cutter.
We discuss the highlights of the Reserva and Gran Reserva ranges and I give Max a crash course in brandy appreciation: if its brownish, made of grapes, and quite strong then you can call it a brandy.
Plus the best tasting note ever: smells like an unkempt barnyard full of dinosaurs.
