Wow, I really enjoyed your review of the OZeRES! I am considering buying the E-Medina from Armsoar, which is identical. Loved the "smell test".

Great video. I am very new to RC electric gliders and am interested in your throttle stick setup. Does that only control the spoiler and motor power is handled by another control?
@nickgeomap2 ай бұрын
Yes. The throttle stick only controls the spoiler. It is set up for competition where you have a maximum of 30 seconds motor run and you usually want the most altitude you can get in that time so it is controlled by a switch. Off is 0% and On is 100%. There is a limiter in the plane that stops it automatically at 30s. I have it set up so that turning the switch off on the controller re-arms the limiter in case I need power in an emergency.

@@nickgeomap Very interesting! I could program a similar setup by putting flaps on the throttle stick and use a switch for throttle.

Is the night radian available in Australia? That seems to be the current replacement here in the USA.

Yes. It seems to be in stock at ModelFlight.

Have been thinking of getting a new res ship to join the Pures, andreas, gentle lady etc. I have one of those alloy spinners and they are crazy heavy. Use a proper reisenauer set up and you'll drop 40-50 grams straight off the bat, cost is about $20. That motor is way out of it's efficiency range and pretty heavy. I use a roxxy 2220/20 which is 30g lighter than than your 2630 and climbs at 4.5 m/s in my 550 gram res ship. It appears to fly very fast, after losing 80g (plus losing that tail weight) you'll be amazed how much better it will fly.
@nickgeomap2 жыл бұрын
Yep. I basically did all of that except stayed with the same motor. Flies much better now :)

That is Hangar 9 Ultracote Lite, bought from Modelflight in Goodwood.

@@paulneville3346 As far as I can tell, they are made by the same company, just sold under different brand names in different countries. www.jimead.f2s.com/covering_materials.htm

Very good summary. May look at this unit, but might prefer a carbon fibre fuz, if I can find one.
@nickgeomap2 жыл бұрын
A carbon fuse would put it out of some eRES competitions. Depends on your local rules, but if you just want to fly for fun, that would be a much more robust option.
