The rolled elastics usually only work well with babies that have chunky thighs. I think nickis diapers are high quality, but we could never get a nice fit because they are so wide and my daughter was always very small. They were way too bulky and awkward for her shape.

I had to “train” my elastics to roll in. I would make sure they were rolled in while line drying. They also work better with a little chunk. Used the one size up until recently when we finally got my 3 year old out of night time diapers. Towards the end we did have to not even snap the legs because they were too tight and only used the waist snap. Only ever used the bamboos and the absorbency was great for an average wetter. The snaps are insanely strong which to me is good, but I could see being a little alarming when removing from a newborn.

There is a trick to their rolled elastics!!! You have to actually flip the elastic! I show it in my one size review!

That’s a good point, they may have fit longer with Velcro since the sizing would be more custom.
