A handwritten note and a seemingly unbreakable bond. But did Christine McVie feel like she came in second to Stevie Nicks' fame?

Too bad bad Christine had nothing nice to say about her in her last interviews. Said they had fallen apart and hadn’t spoke since their last tour ended. Stevie is all about herself!

I’m much more interested in mourning and celebrating Christine McVie than hearing what Nicks thinks! I mean, WHY does Nicks even matter at this point on this topic? Her “tribute” is a carefully constructed piece of bullshit all intended to receive more worship for herself.

People did the same thing with ABBA, all those nasty caustic comments the loser press would throw at Agnetha and Frida, stating that Agnetha is the show-person being a blonde and Frida, being 'older' (they HAD to get THAT in there, ageism much?) and a red-head felt really shunted out. Really? You know that being in someone's head then? This pathetic self-granulating mud conveniently IGNORED Agnetha and Frida's relationship too each other, which was quite sisterly and a bond that grew, quite amazing when you realise they'd likely never meet, being too very different people. Frida was always more comfortable on stage and liked dressing-up too, but Agnetha was always far more shy, loved singing, but both were modest girls and preferred studio work and the creating of the songs and the harmonising together and having the final say on how the vocals were arranged (both girls have since stated this!). Unlike Christine, Agnetha always had an aversion to flying, but had to put up with it, and it wasn't like there were many solutions back then she could use to combat it. Even "ABBA: The Movie" showed up how naff the press was when the blokes showed the girls a newspaper article all about Agnetha's bum, which she took well, Frida may have looked a little peeved, but that was more likely to the article's nature, like "just how pathetic do you blokes have to be". Benny and Bjorn did not help matters, seeming to give Agnetha the lion's share of vocals, once they'd finally shut up singing themselves, as ABBA did not start out the way they're most recognised later, with the girls having half the no. of songs on an album to themselves. And both say often how much they get on. It's great to hear, and neither would just take attention away from the other or get huffy. Agnetha also had her children to always think about too, she is not a party person. Frida was always happier with the nightlife social side of things.

I don't even know where to begin with this one.........!! most of us grew up listening to fleetwood mack.! i cant even count how many fleetwood mac concerts ive been to in my life . forsure.... the 70s was the best decade to be alive in... we were kids!! we were young an wild, having a blast ! an made some good friends along the way too.... i say this... because i find myself 54 yrs old today ! and feeling fine but also sad... very sad. this was such bad news ... i loved this lady and the songs she wrote tell me lies, was my favorite by her. but hey guys.. just another reminder that we ourselves are gettin old. well...... i guess what they say is true.... your gonna die and there's nothin u can do about it. apart of life i guess. wow just...... Wow. i hope they know its time to retire now. cuz with out christine... and lindsey an stevie barley speaking. its an end to an era. well all good things must come to an end... right. Stevie may go on with her solo career but she knows it will never be the same again. its godda be sad for her remembering what it was an how close they all use to be. and how things are now.

I have to admit that Stevie initially drew me in to Fleetwood Mac fandom over 40 years ago, but I quickly grew to love Christine's honeyed dulcet timbre, her distinctive rhythmic keyboard style and those amazing melodies. I remember the first time I watched Christine in concert - directly at eye level from the second row in 1997. I was truly starstruck only by Christine, which is really saying something in a band fronted by Stevie and Lindsey. It's almost like she was royalty. Just a solid, gracious, talented musician who just seemed too regal for us commoners. I saw Christine many times after her re-emergence and I still had those butterflies in my stomach while in her presence each and every time. I've been in denial for the past day but I finally came to terms and had a good cry while watching a video of her performing "Songbird." She is the first of my true idols to pass and it is a sad reminder that all of this - this life, this joy, this pain, this body - is ephemeral and that the cruel march of time goes only in one direction. It's like I blinked and 41 years of my life, with Christine and Fleetwood Mac as the soundtrack, just flashed by. I knew the day would come eventually... but at the same time I thought they were all immortal. It's been such a long, satisfying run and Christine, my love, thank you for spending time with us and sharing your gifts with the world.

R.I.P., Christine McVie. As an accomplished accordion player, I always admired your out of this world musical gifts. Be it on piano, accordion or whatever keyboards you were playing your natural talent always rose above most anyone around you. Even tambourine and maracas, you were the Queen. Vocal and instrumental talents that were not just the level of many others in your industry, you had the polished talents and abilities of one who had studied and learned music as her craft. Perhaps in the background more often but with the obvious lack of need to be the star of the show. For anyone who knows music, Christine was the star of the women, and enjoying playing her parts to perfection was all she needed. Her ability to sing such exquisite harmonies, again the best part of their songs. May all your family, loved ones, friends and bandmates {the later 2 being 1 and the same} grieve as you need to ... recollect the good times you were lucky to have with her and take from her all the lessons her wisdom brought you. One of the most beautiful voices ever, one of the most beautiful and classy women ever. You will never be forgotten and I for one, will miss you forever. Fleetwood Mac is no longer. At least I have your music. 🧡🌹

Ground breaking? Incredibly!!!! I'm sad she never felt she got the credit she deserved as a female musician. And part of it is ironically because she was rarely out front just singing, because she was busy jamming her soul out on the keyboards. Her songs were such a light, tender touch on their music as a whole. She was truly irreplaceable! She could have been a huge piece of the band just with her voice. Her talent on piano and keyboards was a godsend. And I would imagine she inspired countless young women to take up music. And God bless her for it. She is truly an icon, an inspiration, and a blessing in this world. I hope somehow she knows it. Rest in peace, dear.

I've been wondering why lots of Stevie Nicks videos have appeared in my recommendeds the past few days, I thought she may have died but obviously it was Christine, may her soul be blessed 🙏💖🙏

Christine was just as important to the band as Stevie. They both were unique and beautiful. When you heard a song, you could say I know that voice it is Stevie Nick's. And when you heard a song, you could also say that's Christine Mckvie. That's how beautiful and well known their voices were. I always loved Christine and Fleetwood Mac. They were like family to all of us. It's very sad to lose Christine. She is in Heaven now with our Lord and singing with the Angels. And she is a beautiful Angel up there as she was here on Earth. RIP Christine and prayers for her family.

I’ve said this for years: Christine was Fleetwood Mac’s secret weapon. It was no secret among their fans. Whether it was her keyboard playing, her wonderful singing and songwriting, even playing guitar on the odd song - we always knew she was very present in the music, and we were grateful for that presence. As far as I’m concerned, the band paid her the ultimate tribute: they decided not to try to carry on without her.

Christine was often overshadowed by Stevie Nicks, but Ms. McVie actually wrote or co-wrote half of Fleetwood Mac's greatest hits...and her beautiful singing voice was just as unique as Stevie's... Each band mate has their own style, but the way this group jelled...the good and bad times they shared...the emotional pain they endured...The music produced as a result cannot be matched, and will live forever...

Christine McVie, was, Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks couldn`t have done what she had done, without Christine McVie and vice versa. The 2 women were powerful, together, which IS, what made the band what it was. Christine`s voice, was like heaven on earth. RIP Christine, you are so very much missed.
