Woody's relationship with Mia Farrow had soured over the past 12 years, as had Soon-Yi's relationship with her adopted mother. The two got involved, and that was about the stupidest mistake Allen could make. Of course it made Mia Farrow extraordinarily angry and frantic. In the midst of their ugly divorce and nearing custody battle, suddenly Woody Allen was accused of 'abuse' - what is called the 'nuclear option' in such cases. The angry ex-partner makes an accusation of child abuse, in order to make the life of her ex miserable, without repercussions for herself.
