And people make everything a laughing matter - which is good most of the time ! They don’t like it that I grew up in Calif - I was told that I was one of” them” - so I basically stick to myself . It’s definitely overly portrayed as a healthy place but the food has to be trucked in and is soooo expensive - hard to eat if one has any allergies - most folks have their group of friends already . Montana is the greatest. I live in very rural Utah in a mountain cabin; in my life before I lived in the cities (and worldwide in the military); until you have lived in the woods you won't appreciate what it is like, but once you have done so, you will never want to go back. Rural folk (like the entire state of Montana) cringe like I do when they visit a monstrocity like Salt Lake City. We count the seconds until we are out of there.

I pay more, but it's because I choose to buy discontinued yarn, and it's a bit costly, but I'd rather help a family or single parent, students, etc. Who really need the money to survive! That's what I have been doing for about 7 years now, I think. Support small mom pop businesses it's their lively hood. Great videos, Nick I am never disappointed with your content and of course you are hilarious 😅❤😊

Great video Nick! I’d love to try some of that Huckleberry Ice Cream! Thanks for going to Montana, so I don’t have to! All kidding aside, it looks like an interesting place to visit, but even though I lean conservative, I’d be bored shitless there. I don’t drink, but would probably take it up if I lived in Montana!

I love visiting Montana whenever I'm out seeing family in Alberta, as they are close to the border so I usually make a point of traveling through the State on my way back. I've stayed in Kalispell, Polson, Great Falls, and Libby. The last town, if you've ever visited, is a really nice, friendly place that was once considered one of the most polluted communities in the United States. The major employer in town, going back to the late 19th century, was a vermiculite mine that evidently ran alongside natural asbestos deposits, and in the mining process there was contamination on a massive scale that saw not only the employees exposed to asbestos but pretty much everyone else courtesy of the wind carrying fibers everywhere. The EPA began investigating in 1999, began emergency responses in 2000 and ultimately declared a public health emergency in 2009. Cleanup of more than one million cubic yards of contaminated soil was completed in late 2018, with the exception of the forested area. I walked past the EPA office in Libby during my stay, and saw signs for a mesothelioma clinic. What's particularly insidious is that the company that took over operations of the mine back in 1963 - W.R. Grace & Company - knew of the asbestos contamination and didn't warn anyone until the end of mining operations in 1990. It just let the area get contaminated and let its citizens get sick; the profits meant more.

Growing up in the 60s , 70s and leaving in 86 from Bozeman and Billings. I now live in Ohio and get back rarely, my memories are better than reality. When I go back I want to cry. Bozeman now has 10+ 🍷 wine and cheese 🧀 bars. And Billings is a dusty weed reden ghetto. But the scenery is still and always be beautiful

That may be true on these back roads, but on the highway, after driving across the country several times, I've had the opposite experience, oddly enough. Montanans drive exactly the speed limit, or even a few miles under, more often than people do in any other state I've been to.

We were just in far eastern Montana for a little bit on a ‘Grand Tour of North Dakota’ vacation. Saw like 5 people. Nothing like driving along a 2-lane asphalt highway that turns to gravel at 70 mph with no warning. Drove on the gravel part for about 30 miles (going 50 mph) before it mercifully turned back to asphalt.

I live north of montana by a couple hrs and the farm land is the same. The season is long enough to get a crop off. Yea lots of “hay” indicates lots of livestock. Hay is NOT the only thing that can be grown 😂. Popular crops up here in my parts is wheat, barley, oats, peas, lentils, canola, flax, mustard. You could also be doing corn etc…
