I was raised in Bucks County and my wife and I were married by the mayor of Newtown. We saw first-hand the transformation of that part of the state into a bedroom community for people from as far away as New York City, who brought with them their brusqueness and Ill manners. As an example there was a small restaurant in town that used to serve breakfast but as it was small you used to have to wait maybe 15 or 20 minutes for a table. For a local this was no big deal - you would just grab a newspaper and read about the crime in Trenton. But for the new folks this was intolerable and there was a lot of yelling. I used to ask people why they moved to the area and they said for the peace and quiet.
@B_kinda Жыл бұрын
Oh get over yourself lol. No one wants to live in PA ..but if they have to ? They do it in bucks county. That’s the frustration. Probably the most normal county and we all know PA is.. “interesting”. 🤷🏻♀️
@bonecanoe86 Жыл бұрын
Newtown is caught in a complicated location. In the Philly area, but pretty far out. Close but not too close to Trenton. On the side of the Philly burbs that points out towards New York. Part of Lower Bucks County but fairly distinct from other parts of the area like Levittown/Fairless Hills/Bristol. I do really love Newtown and think the historic downtown is gorgeous, but it's hard to say what the town's identity even is anymore.

Having lived in Lancaster county for over 30 years, I can tell you firsthand that there's a LOT of Rumspringa Amish kids 'driving' drunk. Normally, they'll be at a barn nearby or whatever, and the horse simply knows the way home. Back in 1984, a friend visiting from New York and I were standing outside one crisp October night. Suddenly, we started hearing AC/DC's 'Back in Black' coming up the road. Sure enough, it was a horse-drawn buggy full of drunk kids with a boombox. Neither of us had seen such a thing, and then, to our astonishment, one of them flipped us the bird and said, "Hey! F*ck YOU!", and at first they laughed, then all of us laughed hysterically as the horse was on auto-piliot. 🤣 It was my friend's strange introduction to the Amish and at the time, I had no explanation for it. Now though, I know about Rumspringa. It happens far more common that you'd think. 😉

I live in Central PA. EVERYONE here utterly HATES Philly. It is a HELL scape. Most of those people even hate themselves. The robot story tells you everything you would need to know about Philly. Most of them do not venture far or for long in the Appalachia part of PA. They hate us and we hate them. Still lots of Trump signs up where I live and we are NOT taking them down anytime soon. Why do I live where I do? Low crime, clean air and water and VAST areas of state forests, parks, and game lands. It is easy to be left alone here. Great video, thanks

Do a part two for some other states too please. Every state has positives and the first unboxing videos seemed a little bit more negative. Pennsylvania is a good state in my opinion so thank you for doing this.

Have you ever lived in Schuylkill County? Moved here from Philly and what a nightmare this is. The Living Dead and they don't look like they'll ever be coming back.

PA could easily absorb several hundred thousand Ukrainians, PA having asorbed many people from Europe over the ages, moving away from various wars. If Ukrainians want to leave and never go back, Pennsylvania is a great location to start over... LOTS of open space, cheap housing, business opportunities, and room to grow.

How the hell is the guy that “grew up here” going to say the phrase “sub sandwiches” ? Bro. Hoagies. We have a few words that are ours, jawn, hoagie, wooder… don’t ever let them take them from us.

First Baseball Stadium, First Radio Station KDKA, First Cash Register, First US Constitution and Bill of Rights :-) Lots of Firsts, even for one of the original 13 colonies. But it's probably the Quakers beliefs on Freedom and Liberty that helped shape the Bill of Rights for All U.S.A.

Every state west of the Mississippi river would beg to differ. Pennsylvania is tiny.

@@Pilotin74 I love how I said, WEST of the Mississippi River yet you gave me Mississippi as an example.... you realize Mississippi is EAST of the Mississippi River? Fucking moron look at a map. And Texas and Cali are SIGNIFICANTLY bigger than Pennsylvania. Jesus did you get your education in Philly? Damn like the guy said, the Philly public schools fucking suck.

Lived in NEPA for a few years. It was good for me as an adolescent but as a young adult I struggled financially as a single individual. Moved to Montana 16 years ago for a better life and have been thriving since.
