@yerpderp68003 жыл бұрын
@@natalialoveee weeell it really depends on how you practice Buddhism. Buddhism at its core is not sexist; it should go beyond labels in the first place, to still differentiate between man and woman shows a lack of enlightenment/old habits that haven't burnt out yet. It also depends on the sect you interact with. There are militant Buddhists that actually get violent 🤣 like breh, you are literally breaking one of the core precepts, but they do mental gymnastics in order to justify the violence. There are some folks high up that are sexist, like I think the current Dalai Llama has been in somewhat recent controversy for saying sexist remarks. But that's a general issue with organized religions, it's very easy to generalize a religion when you have folks that follow prominent leaders whom are mistakenly viewed to be the face of a religion. Which is honestly a ridiculous behavior since the core of religion is supposed to be very personal in the first place; religion is meant to serve as guidance for one's spiritual journey, it's not something you blindly follow and take to be the spiritual journey in itself (imo). It's like saying math is sexist if you have a lot of mathematicians and math institutions that push sexist ideas. Math on its own is NOT sexist, it can be discovered by oneself. Same deal with Buddhism, the dhamma is always available and can be realized, we're lucky to have people and written records available that talk about it but there have been times where no such things existed. That doesn't mean the dhamma can no longer be derived, only that it's not collected by a group of sentient beings or texts under a common label that groups them called "Buddhism". The spirit of Buddhism is the dhamma, the rituals and precepts are there for people who need assistance in realizing the dhamma but are not strictly necessary (I recommend looking into Chogyam Trungpa, they were clearly enlightened and lived the life they did to prove this point).

Your perspective solved this conflict in my head. I have been constantly desiring to surround myself with this type of community as I do not feel that I fit in anywhere else. I have this desire to learn about my true self as the suffering of being disconnected within is too painful. Thank you so much for the video. I came off my self-imposed ban of KZbin because I miss the spiritual videos. Yours is one of them. I learned a lot while being off of social media. One, I have a lot more time to care for not only myself, but also others. I was able to get my dog's diabetes under control, I was able to help my elderly parents more around the house. I was able to spend time in deep Bible study. Now I miss the community. I miss watching videos that help me on my spiritual path. I enjoy watching your videos even though I am not Buddhist because I have never met anyone so dedicated to staying spiritually strong and encouraging others to follow morality over anything else. I need a virtuous friend like you in my life right now. So thank you for making these videos!🙏👍🙂

I think he was saying not just in Buddhist practice but in goals and activities like say volunteering to help others, classes(maybe philosophy), in a mental health support group that’s positive, or anything you enjoy but going towards positive goals you all share

you don't need friends to meditate and recite prayers from a book. You can learn meditation techniques from online teachers or even better rinpoches books. The meditation will lead you to higher understanding. Not friends and not teachers, you yourself have to walk this way if speaking about real practice

I do believe in magick and prayer, and I would pray for new friends and people that meld with me and my beliefs. I'm also open to talking to anyone about anything crazy no matter if they openly judge me or not, I'm not shy. Over the span of a month I found a whole different friends group that I share beliefs with, and as we manifest and discover wonderful new spiritual truths, we have eachother to share and be excited with. I agree with the other person, set your intention through magick or prayer and go out in the world not afraid to be who you are now. It will all shift according to who you are, and will reflect thw new you. I lived my own proof.

Thank you Nick for your videos. They truly inspire me as I continue on my spiritual journey. I sense your beautiful spirit and your advice resonates deeply with me. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and handing it on a "silver platter". May your journey continue to be rewarding and I wish you love and peace always. I am from the Caribbean - thousands of miles away from Thailand but as you say, the teacher arrives at the right time.

Thank you for sharing your insights. I have found the stillness and clarity in the midst of the current crisis, getting severely ill from it at the beginning. I was longing to find this inner tranquility for a long time, but never had a "reason" to search for it - until I was forced to stand still. Looking back, I'm so grateful for what I've found, although at the same time it has been the hardest time in my life.

Was very impressed after watching this video. I am an ardent Buddhist follower but the problem with me is that I don’t have any teacher or friends who could be of any help to me. My only guide is books and KZbin. Pls help me find a teacher and a spiritual friend.

Thank you so much my friend. Maybe you can try joining some activities or groups. There are both in person groups and virtual. This may help. Also try going to meditation retreats also if possible 🙂

I used to go to the bank, and during Lunar New Years, request $2 bills to hand out for the rest of the year. It would make me feel great to use that money to tip bus boys at restaurants in low-income communities, homeless people, whomever I can pay (small businesses) w/$2 as it’s traditionally a sign of good luck dating back to Chinese influence on my culture. _It felt so good knowing I could spread the love in even the smallest ways possible._ Now, I am broke w/yo no tengo dinero. But, it’s all good, because I send warm thoughts and prayers to people even when they don’t think anyone’s concerned. My heart always goes out to the _underdogs of the world, those who have it the least but strive to keep being the authentic and kind-hearted individuals they are!_ They truly deserve the world.
