As someone with ADHD and 4 children I really need structure and routine but I am so rubbish at sticking too them. I will go back to the drawing board and try again.

@NickKeomahavongOfficial wondering if the analysis and suggestions of conventional psychology are in line with Buddha's teachings or at variance? Did Buddha teach Anicca Dukkha and Anatta and unconditionally or a permanent self? How can conventional psychology, which propagates Pavlov's conditionality be in line with Buddha's teachings, whether it is CBT, DBT or any other formats?

I have a narcissistic mother. I was married to a man who was not only narcissistic but highly manipulative. He took my daughter away to another country whom I can't see again. I married a crossdresser and he didn't tell me until after we married. He trickled truth his crossdressing instead of telling me straight up he was a crossdresser. His crossdressing got in the way of morals, sex, and my daughter believing she was a boy. I have peace. I have a great relationship with my mother. How? Her own pain and anguish she feels and when she tells me I am despicable, I tell her that I love her so much and that I only have one mother and she has taught me many great things and I tell her I love her so much. I also believe that by doing so, when she eventually passes, her soul won't be pained by the relationship we have with one another and that's the greatest gift I could ever give her. As far as my 23 year marriage. Well I can't complain. I've been blessed in different ways. I remarried to a handsome man. He has high moral ground and helped me fix the damaged parts of me without him really trying. What brought me peace is the acknowledgement that I am a sweet kind and very feeling soul. I can be sad and depressed about my circumstances or I can learn from it and be genuinely thankful. Are these choices ever easy? Oh Far from it. But understanding these challenges with elegance has made me the person I am today. That is priceless. Whether I talk to a guide or reflect on my own strengths and shortcomings has been more than a blessing. It's with deep gratitude that even as seldom I watch your videos, your presence for a few minutes of my time has helped me see that I have everything I need to be the example I want to be for myself. For that. I extend my gratitude for your presence and wisdom.

Thank you for the past year o support, Venerable Nick. My condolences too, to you and all those in your monastery, at the passing on of your venerable colleague. What resonated with me most? It was taking time to look back at the past year and review/reflect on the good I have done. Not to concentrate on the negatives. All the very best my Sangha friend. 🙏

Everyone has a right to life and a right to live. I don't know where this selfishness of taking care of yourself first came from . . . but from what I can see, probably 95% of the world population has the ability and the resources available to take care of themselves. No one wants to point fingers and say, well they are just lazy and insist others should take care of them. But maybe that is the actual problem here? People are so entitled and so miserable anymore, and they pity themselves more than anything so they literally expect everyone else to pick up the slack because "woe is me." right? I'm sorry this irked me a bit. Nothing against you, Nick, it's just I've heard people say we should never put the mask on first, we should always help those around us because that is what GOD wants. Literally, set yourself on fire to keep others warm. Why? What good does that do? Why are they more deserving than you? This is the most confusing thing I am dealing with right now. I feel like I have half the world telling me to take care of myself first, and the other half saying How dare you even think about putting yourself first. You should be ashamed of yourself for even eating because there are starving people in the world. I'm done. :| Sorry for the rant.

Dearest Nick, I have followed your journey and suffering, which led you you to where you are now. You are such a giver and a beautiful soul. I met up with someone yesterday who was in a deep depression. My heart went out to him but I’m not sure my words were of any help. Today, I was led to your message, which I believe was about Divine Timing and that, after yesterday is now.🙏🏻 Thank you so much for all the time and love you extend to so many and for being you. Much love and blessings to everyone. ❤x

Sir, you are very fortunate that you can become a monk and put yourself into the nearly perfect "rehab" on earth. What do you suggest who wants such but unable to for reasons within rules and regulations and who are deeply struggling to cope prolong trauma, addictions with unwholesome mechanisms ?
@NickKeomahavongOfficial5 күн бұрын
Maybe start off by getting support from a therapist along with attending support groups. And if possible you can attend meditation classes and also meditation retreats when you feel up to it. But take it step by step 😊

Being respectful.this is not what is supposed to be.grown men being taken care of and fed by peoples food.monks only job is to sit doing nothing.real religious people work and provide for themselves. So if all of us became monks who will feed us pay water bills and temple maintance bills. Real heroes are not monks but those people who go all the length to make sure monks don't starve to death inside temples.god people need to work and provide.not depending on others toil.pls people wake up think and reason.
