Nick I tried to get the etudes using PayPal but it keeps refusing the payment with the captcha protection. Not sure why!

Nice incite. I never noticed the Giant Steps connection. Keep em coming.

I know that the melody on bar 6 plays the flat third (natural F) but when improvising could I play as if the chord was a dominant (D7) ? I find my self playing the F# all the time the VI chord appears but it might clash with rest of the band.

Everyone mentions Tal Farlow and forgets Johnny Smith. Remember that Gibson made a guitar named the Johnny Smith model. Somehow, after that, he faded into obscurity. Possibly because he left The New York Jazz scene and moved to Colorado, but if you think Tal Farlow‘s version of have you met, Miss Johnson is good. Often the first measure has a IV7 in the second half to give a bluesy feel.

How can I use an etude for improv my solo 🫡🙇‍♂️ ?
@nickmainella

Great question! Use it as a source of inspiration for writing your own vocabulary or simply steal the vocabulary in it and use it in your solos! It's also great for developing technique and the sound of quality lines in your ears 👍
