Hearing what you had to say at the end, Nick, is the reason why I never give out requests. Sure, I'd love you to look at some LEGO themes I've been wanting to hear your thoughts on, like Super Heroes, but I'd much rather you cover themes that you want to cover. As someone who's been an avid viewer of your channel for several years, I think LEGO Rewind is one of your best series. The amount of effort you put into these videos is pretty astounding, and it's clear that you enjoy talking about this stuff. I'd like to see a return to the video essays, and the Sonic stuff because I like hearing you talk about that stuff too, but if you aren't enjoying the content you're making, it can show, and people can *feel* that. I'm just grateful you're making good content and currently have a career as a comic writer and artist. I understand that you'll have to dedicate your time to Planet Ripple (which I still need to get to at some point, but money has been short and college has been stressful), so when you do make a video, it feels like an event to me. Anyway, I hope you give LEGO Rewind a good conclusion, so I can look back fondly during this phase of the channel. Have a nice day.

I miss the "dark age" days, back when there were so many original titles. Nowadays even the star wars sets are getting boring. From all the 2019 sets the only one I was actually interested in were the Benny's space squad (and that's only because it's based on classic space) If they're gonna do something that isn't licenced by some third party then I'd love to see some sort of thing they did with Ninjago legacy. You get a few sets per line from the most memorable or classic themes. They don't have to be 1:1 sets, but that would sell like ice cream in a hot summer morning.

Yeah, although Star Wars is my favorite theme and was my gateway to LEGO, some of the recent sets were distasteful for me, as I did not really enjoy Solo that much and I am mixed on The Last Jedi, the recent sets are not for me. I only really hunt for the rare clone wars set they release every now and again in waves as a treat, hopefully 2019 will be better as Clone Wars will be FINALLY BACK and it will be their 20th anniversary, which is basically a copout to redo the classics, which could either be really cool or really bad.

It's absolutely fascinating, every single theme you cover just pulls me in that way. so yea, do whatever theme you feel like, it's always been fascinating

Another thing about Lego's progress in girl inclusion. JANGbricks pointed out a while back that Lego has started using more gender-neutral torsos (no boobs, no hip curves) in city sets, and I think it's great that you can use those torsos for both male and female characters now. Of course, licensed characters will still keep them (although it might also be because their outfits are tighter.)

One thing I find nifty with Space Police 2 is that the designs of the aliens make it pretty easy to swap the heads around yourself and make "good aliens" and "bad humans" yourself. Heck, even one of the aliens is yellow. Just give him a different head. And the Police wear bodygloves. Not that much of a stretch to stick on an alien's head and make them a force for good.

It's fascinating to hear your reflection on your Lego Rewind series and your channel in general in this video. It also makes me feel old with how long I've followed your content. (I remember starting watching from your original channel, I think from some Bionicle movie reviews. Yeah, crazy how long ago that was. 0_0) Though it makes me appreciate how much you have learned and developed on your videos since then. I feel you've come a long way since your original channel. I hope you feel the same way. Sadly, it's never pretty having to balance the desire to make videos and actually having them perform well enough to make them feel fulfilling. That's the harsh reality of creating content on KZbin. It's why I have no current desire to make videos for my channel. Even when I have some time to myself, I just can't think of content that I would both enjoy doing and be enough to stand out to a potential audience. That said, from whatever amount of time I've spent watching videos on this website, I always appreciate the effort from people that make videos that just speak from the heart and their passion and not solely just to pander to an audience. From my perspective, if you're not enjoying making videos, then it's pretty much just additional work and that's no fun. Especially when you feel your time is better spent on more essential means. Regardless of where you go with your channel, I hope you continue to make it your own and treat your videos as such. Lego or otherwise. I'll likely stick around as long I still have free time to watch these videos. Keep playing well. :)

Tbh I really appreciate the broader context that you include in your videos! Binge-watching the Lego Rewind series and seeing all the commericals at the end has been a bit of a weird trip since - having not been allowed to watch much TV as a kid - when I did get a set, it was basically context-free. It's bizarre and a bit unsettling to realize how much of the marketing behind my favourite sets was intentionally exclusionary towards girls. As a (nominal) adult who still collects Lego, I can't help wondering if I'd have a very different set of interests today if I'd been exposed to those commercials as a kid.

Dude there’s a prototype seatron figure like that green one you show, it’s translucent yellow/green and it’s going for $1,725 in bids on eBay right now and it still has about 2 and a half days left. I wish Lego would release fully translucent figures, in all the translucent colors

Thank you i will admit I am here for the lego and I thank What you have done to the lego community, thank you to bring light to old themes to me, and thank you for letting me know that lego is not here forever on this channel, I respect your decision to not lesson to anything the people want you to do and it is against your will and to change with what you want, I might just stick after the lego phase, thank you for your time, good bye nick

5/22/2021: I have binged watched your LEGO REWIND content seasons 1 and 2. I will stop here and resume the content soon. Incredible content, i recognized all the sets b/c i used to always look thru the mini magazine as a kid (I'm close in age to you) but you have given me so much info regarding "Spiritual Successors" and color and themes and sub themes. I now regret laughing/not picking up some sets like NexoKnights (among others) while on the other hand am happy that i scored the EXO-FORCE Crawler Tank (among others) Thank you for everything. Wish you the best in what comes next for you channel

Thanks for putting in all the work. It's been really fun following along with this series since about 3/4 through season 1. This series has been one of my favorites, and I've really enjoyed your non-Lego videos too. Keep up all the great work, and have a great 2019.

As one of the new subscribers who found you through lego rewind, I will definitely stay even after it is over. You are not afraid to state your opinions and talk earnestly with us, and I really enjoy and respect that. Your videos on G-1 and Shed 17 are some of my favourite videos of yours, even though I never had any Thomas toys when I was a kid. I am here for the personality, not the content, and as long as that doesn't change (which I doubt it will) then you have at least 1 new supporter in me.

You know.... I enjoyed these videos, and I'm glad it isn't going to be stagnated by becoming a long-running series. You've covered a ton of the themes that I loved growing up and even inteoduced me to themes I never even knew existed (like Classic Space). Really this is all I could ever ask for, and all I have to say is thank you for making these awesome videos.

Thanks for giving me the courage to stick to what I'm passionate about and set the algorithm aside for a bit when making content. We need more of that.

Hey man love the work you did on these videos, its a great trip down nostalgia lane. I recall so many of these sets, and have to be honest. I checked the lego site today to see what they were selling and such and only found it too be disappointing everything is just movie license stuff, how I miss the older times with the unique themes .... GOD HOW I MISS LEGO VIKINGS!!!!!

I have to say, I know the need for polishing your work can be really stressful, but you've really done a great job with this series as a whole. You really go above and beyond with each episode and the amount of passion you put into this is frankly stellar. It's been great to see how much you've grown since your sonic reviews. Looking forward to seeing whatever comes next.

Thank you. I noticed after rendering that there are a tiny couple of tiny editing hiccups in this, but you know what? I decided to leave them in this time. This vid's 40 minutes, took all day and night just to render and upload, and I don't want to make myself physically ill just obsessively re-rendering it every time I find a screen fades in a millisecond too soon. Somehow, in this case, it just seems oddly fitting to include those imperfections that, again, might only be noticeable to me.
@WeedDigimon5 жыл бұрын
@@NickonPlanetRipple To be honest with you, I didn't really notice the hiccups. And considering how polished this nearly 40 minute video is, I think that speaks volumes to how much you've improved over the years.

When you were talking about how you found a Life on Mars set after so many years later, I could relate to that. Back in the early 2000’s my parents stocked up on Lego sets from a closing store. And in 2020 I barely leaned that they held two Star Wars sets for me. Upon graduating high school, I was gifted the X Wing Starfighter (With Yodas Hut in the Black Box or Original Trilogy Series) and the first Mos Eisley Cantina (Also in a Original Trilogy black box.). Though being 18 (I’m 19 now at the time of this comment) I still had that professional and collector side conflicting with my inner child and creative self. But like you said in the Life on Mars part, toys are meant to be played with, so I “professionally” opened the box, and ended up putting everything together. I absolutely loved building it. Lego can make as many X Wings and Landspeeders, but the ones I got from the past are just so nostalgic and pleasing to look at that make me hold it so close. So that was a really cool segment I enjoyed in this recap episode.

I’m actually sort of happy you opened that Life on Mars set, sure I love toy preservation but seeing someone who both gets and appreciates that theme experience and take care of one of its sets is really special too.

I, personally will be sad when Lego Rewind ends, but I hope you have great success in the future, and hope to enjoy whatever content you put out.. I like the idea of a channel that puts out a variety of content, like reviews of movies and games, as well as original content that you can dream up. I discovered your channel because of your amazing Invasion From Below Mocs, and was delighted when you started doing Lego rewind. Overall, safe travels through the treacherous landscape of the Internet, and may the force be with you.

Honestly if Lego does another Vikings-type line I hope they don't just go for Greek or Roman mythology. European stuff always goes for those and it's so overused, it just feels like home base. Slavic, Incan, Mesopotamian, Indian mythologies, now there's some rarely touched cultural corners

Honestly I'm happy you're chosing to end rewind by your own decision. if you didnt, it would get stale. whatever you choose to do in the future, ill keep supporting your endeavors in it.

Ngl I really regret not giving Nexo Knights a go when it was still around. Looking at the Rock Gargoyle stuff gave me an idea of making living castle golems of various sizes, and it sucks all those unique figures and pieces from the line are hella expensive.

I'll definitely be sticking around! I came because of your Bionicle G2 reviews and Nova Orbis, and Lego Rewind has been fascinating, but I'm staying because you're a really cool and thoughtful person. I look forward to whatever you may do in the future, be it lego related or otherwise! I'm glad you have a clear plan for what you want to cover with this, instead of sticking to your comfort zone and dragging things out as much as is physically possible. Much better for you to be enjoying what you're doing than get caught up in perfectionistic completionism. So yeah, I'll still be here.

The more I binged this show up to know, the more I can see the quality of the show really has had ups and down as you say, but I can see WAY more ups than downs. As someone who is trying to break into the VA and creative business himself, someone gave me a great piece of advice: "you're your own worst critic." It may seem a bit tired or cliché, but it's 100% true. Always seek to improve, but never think that everything is garbage. It's plagued my mind for too long (and to some degree still does) and I'm feeling a lot better for it. I've written more, spoken out more, and felt a lot better now that I've gotten years of undone work off my chest. I may have only gotten into you due to your LEGO Rewind series, but now after seeing the road you've traveled, I'd love to see your own original work! And yeah, I would never do reviews myself either. Too much stress. It's OK of you didn't wanna touch on Space Port, I'll take your advice and do it myself! Also, I never heard of Nnenn before this and now I love his work and prayed for his family after watching that part. A pity that Seatron was cancelled at the last moment, but it lives on in us fans. And don't worry about rumors and sexism, nobody gets it right all the time. You did fantastic for what you were doing. And yeah...that old "red" Brickfig...ergh... But yeah, can't wait to finish the rest of this series!

Nexo Knights is some of my favourite ideas for a theme. I'm not that interested in Lego how I used to be but just watching giant castle moving is great.

EVERY LEGO THEME IS CONNECTED! So, in a Lego magazine, it says Alien Conquest’s Alien Commander creates Dino’s Dinosaurs, Pharaoh’s Quest’s Mummies and Atlantis’ Sea Monsters, So Pharaoh’s Quest - Atlantis - Dino Atlantis has the character brains from Power Miners Power Miners - Atlantis Power Miners has a colour scheme, design and logo that is used in Racer’s 8211 Power Miners - Racers Racers appears in The Robot Chronicles along with city, agents and creator! Racers - Agents - City - Creator In the Ultra Agents game, there are Agent’s suits in the background Ultra Agents - Agents In Ninjago, Ultra Agents characters appear Ultra Agents - Ninjago In Ultra Agents, Solomon Blaze appears from Galaxy Squad Ultra Agents - Galaxy Squad In Monster Fighters, in their final Lego web comic, Lord Vampire brings Galaxy Squad’s aliens to Earth Galaxy Squad - Monster Fighters Here it is Pharaoh’s Quest - Dino - Atlantis - Power Miners - Racers - City - Creator - Agents - Ninjago - Galaxy Squad - Monster Fighters

i remember me and my mom going on a weekly thrift store run when i was about 12, i went to the toy section like i always did and i found a full trashbag of legos, literally ripping from how full it was. there was no price on it so i took it to the employees. next thing you know i got a bag full of blacktron, aquazone, and just a bunch of vintage legos for $4 then me and my mom messed around with them for a bit seeing what we could build. this made my childhood man.

I'm not sure whether this comment will be lost in the mass or not, but I sincerely want to thank you for the time you spend making this serie Nick. It brought back so many memories of hours I spendt looking in details at all the old lego catalogs I could find and all the cool themes that existed when I was a kid. All these kid friendly universes are really something refreshing, and I felt nostalgia (in a good way) so many times watching the serie. Thank you again and again for your passionate review of all these themes, you're creating the most awesome content I've seen in years. Wish you all the best and I can't wait to see the next episodes ! :)
