I loved this video. It was very helpful as a novice terrarium builder. What I loved more was never seeing the cat but seeing his pin straight tail at the beginning and the end of the video. Thank you :)

Beautiful terrarium Nick, I love the plants you chose, and I love the moss and rocks as a top dressing, in a terrarium I don't like seeing the top soil, this way it just looks so beautifully finished off, I do like to add little statues and crazy little things, but then what ever floats your boat, lol. Thanks this was a super fun video with a lot of great tips, I especially liked the pot that coralled the charcoal till you were ready to add the soil.

Beautiful! Enjoyed watching! A suggestion - have you tried using a pair of chopsticks to place your plants and fiddle the soul and stones in place? The extra long ones work well! I feel hands take up space and there is a likelihood of leaves breaking off....I would be upset if that happened to me, a beginner! 😊

What are the care tips for a terrarium? Do you water with a spray bottle or watering can, how often, is fertilizer necessary; lastly, do u have to worry about mold on on the artificial moss?
@miranolastname23662 жыл бұрын
omg this is 3yrs old already but incase anybody have the same question. For watering, it's depends on your type of terrarium. eg: closed terrarium needed only once a month using a spray because the water can circulate itself (usually you use plant that can stand high moisture) . look at the stone underneath, make sure theres only a thin film of water. more than that is too much. open terrarium depends on the plants water requirement. remember to choose plants with similar water requirements. for mold you dont have to worry too much because the charcoal can take care of that and its important to not overwatering to avoid mold. i cant say much about fertilizer. i dont use it and my plants are still nice.

I assume this is to be a closed terrarium? As this is for beginners it would be a good idea to make it clear that the bowl has to have a lid of some kind.

What makes me sad is that I watched your summer 2019 houseplant tour and this terrarium was neglected. I have to admit that I have been guilty of this as well. But I love that episcia and (misidentified?) Begonia thelmae. Neither plant is readily available in just any plant shop or nursery. Love your videos Nick, looking forward to your comprehensive Cissis rapens video! ;)

Great video with instructions and explanation! My main question: is where do you get the plants for the terrarium? I’ve tried the large hardware stores but come up short. Most are large, not small. Thanks in advance!
