@@audunms4780 You can also get leather in the scrap piles in the swamp, but it doesn't matter, because the challenge is to not "use" stuff from animal origin, as vegans don't, regardless if you kill the animal or not. And of course the exceptions are the bosses and the single 1 or 2-star deer that he needs to kill in order to invoke Eikthyr.

I clicked on your video because I had just done it... It was tough. I got to Moder. Aside from not using any food/potions with meat in it, I had to use all light armor. It got to be very hard and I got tired of dying. I did vegetarian, not vegan. No metal armor, no meat consumption, I guess it was more of a druid run.

It was a good edited video of that challenge. But you left out the disappointment when you realised that the spinningwheel used leather. The thoughtout strategy crumbled into nothing. Amazing challenge!

For some reason, I get the feeling like vegans would probably be fine with use of materials from incidental kills or the creatures they don't kill, but we have no idea because all of the ones we hear from live cushy modern lives That aside, it kinda bugs me that animal materials are needed for bows, cause the "crude bow" seems like something one could make with wood only, just like the most basic of the arrows, mainly cause I've seen it done.

Wonderful video, mate! This and your In Reverse vids were a wonderful introduction to your channel and really scratched my itch for viewing unique ideas that challenge the player and sometimes even defy the game itself. I'm still pretty fresh to Valheim, so some of the tricks you used will definitely inspire me for my own solo seed. If we wanted to get technical, would the Vegan challenge's standard animal item ban extend to all NPCs classified as a "creature?" In that case, Surtling Cores would also not be allowed due to them being sourced from Surtlings in name and potential item drop. Of course, an outright ban would make the run most likely literally impossible, and since no Surtling was harmed in this production I reckon it can be overlooked, lol
