I have a similar story with my own Gladys. A coworker of mine offered me this piece of art that he said his son had outgrown. It was a painting(?) of the joker, mime, or jester on one of those old fashioned bikes with one giant wheel, and it had some 3D elements to it. It was absolutely hideous and creepy. I can't fully describe how creepy it was. You had to see it. So I am a people pleaser and said I would take it. I didn't want it one bit. It was huge, too. We ended up storing it in a closet for a long time, maybe a couple years or so. Eventually, we pawned it off on a friend who said his son might like it.when we pushed for him to take it. We were so relieved to pass the curse onto someone else as it had been passed to us.
