Okay, everyone else is doing Nico rants so I'm joining in. So first he lost his mother, then gets trapped in the casino and then gets taken away by these people who put them in a boarding school not bothering to tell them that they're basically 80 and that it's the 21st century. Then he gets thrown into the world of mythology, at ten years old, and has to manage the new world. Then he loses his sister to the hunt, then on top of it his sister dies on the quest, then loses control of his emotions and flees camp. He's on his own for about a year or so, then comes back to help for the Titan War. Some point between him leaving and the Lost Hero he goes into Tartarus to save their asses, WILLINGLY to find the Doors of Death, ALONE. Then after that traumatic experience he gets captured by the twin giants and put into the jar, one that makes your worst dreams come true around you while he was in the jar, weak, frail, and almost dead by the time they find him. Then he gets saved by the Seven, yay for him, which is short lived. He has to watch the Seven get along happily, almost like a family, while he's there all sad and traumatized having to watch them. Then Percy and Annabeth fall into Tartarus and everyone loses their shit, while Nico went through the pit ALONE. Everything seemed to be going okay as it could be for him, until he has to go with Reyna, Coach Hedge, and the Athena Parthenos to Camp Half-Blood. He almost dies, quite literally, from travelling across the world with them in tow, losing almost all of his energy to do so. When he finally makes it back to Camp a war's on the way, almost unstoppable no matter what they do. They stop the war, him still liable to fall to the ground from exhaustion at any moment. And he can fell the death radiating around him, he can't escape it. And he has everyone breathing down his neck like he's some test subject for them to look at. Yeah, doesn't have the happiest life, does he?

Di Angelo means "from the angel". He truly was an angel in disguise. Nico deserved a much better life than what he got. It was bad from the beginning for him. I relate to him, but on a much smaller scale of events. Life just kept slapping him in the face; why should you try if you know you're going to fall down? How do you lose something you never found? It's sad, really, but I suppose the pain only brings happiness, in the end.

Afterwards his sister, who was like his best friend decided to join the Hunters (an all girl group lead by Lady Artemis) and he couldn't come with. Then his sister went on a dangerous quest in which she died. He then disconnected from the world and started to become a "Solo-Player". During the next series he gains a second sister, hazel (Who is also not from this time mind you) and he admits he had a crush on Percy, which is hard for both of the Hades kids because they are from periods of time Which don't exactly condone that way of acting or thinking. So it's a struggle. He also has to deal with him at one point being in tartarus which is literal hell, so yeah. But on a shorter note he basically gets pushed down whenever he tried to get up, no wait, PUNCHED down is more like it. But we love him and he's happier now

Excuse me, but just because someone is rich or is well off doesn't mean that they have a good life. Look at Piper. For years, her dad shoved her aside because he didn't want her to be exposed to the fame of the world. She was sent to many different schools, constantly seen as a problem. Look at Rachel. She has her own loft room, and yet her dad hardly cares about her. She has no family other than her parents, who don't care about her interests and only want her to be a polite socialite. She had to watch Pan die, knowing that her dad had caused it. Even Annabeth was living in a nice house, and probably could've had a phone, but she RAN AWAY WHEN SHE WAS SEVEN BECAUSE PEOPLE DIDN'T CARE ABOUT HER OR LISTEN TO HER. Luke had a wonderful home with plenty of space, but he lived alone with his mother, who was LITERALLY INSANE. People who have a phone may be rich, but they also may be abused, or depressed. Mental disorders do not care what your situation is in life. Maybe it is a bit dramatic, and if it is really that bad, then you should get help, but I am SO DONE with people who think that just because someone has money, their life is peachy. Even if you have everything under control, you can still feel like you're drowning. Even if you have all A's, supportive parents, and material belongings, you can still have PTSD, depression, anxiety, OCD. Plus, have you ever considered the fact that someone with money could get SICK? Hmm? Just because someone has money doesn't mean they can't get cancer or any other deadly or incurable disease. So next time you're going to comment on a video, please just think! Maybe not a lot of thought was put into these comments, but I still felt like I had to say something, even if it may not have been that serious. If you don't like my opinion, feel free to argue. There’s so much I could rant about this beautiful boy and his struggles but I’m only gonna add the little tidbits most people forget. His mother was killed by nicos own uncle when it was actually an attempt to kill him and his sister. His father wiped his memory. He never really went to school. Everyone judged him when they found out who his dad was. He had to learn an adapt to a whole nw decade filled with new tech on his own. He figured his father out by himself. He had a manipulative ghost teach him about his powers. He went into the labyrinth multiple times with only the ghost as his guide. He was alone figuring everything out at 10. His dad blamed him for his sisters death and pretty much told him he wasn’t good enough and he should have died bc his sister was better. His dad was really harsh to him in the beginning leaving him alone. He was the first demigod to go into tartarus and survive, he was tortured there and was captured to then be put in a jar filled with poisonous air. He put himself in a death trace which resulted in him not really being able to eat much. He went into Tartarus willingly to help save Thanatos knowing he’ll probably die. When in that place he new nobody would come looking for him, nobody would save him and had the mindset that nobody would care if he died. He literally had a messed mindset and no self worth before he went into there and still survived whereas right when percy entered he was ok with dying he was ready but annabeth snapped him out of it. So if percy and annabeth didn’t go together they would have died and they had people for them, trying to help them, they had people to fight for, they had each other, Nico had no one. Nico was always alone, nobody truly understood what he was going through. His only living family (aside from hades) had been ripped from him at such a young age, he was still codependent and now had to learn to adapt and survive on his own. He spent time doing jobs from his father during that time he left camp. Nico grew up in a time where being gay was not ok and he had to face the fact he was gay adding more to his not great mental state. Nico was forced by Cupid to come out to Jason someone he wasn’t very close with at the time. After nico got out of the jar he had to help the seven and lead them to the house of hades and ended fighting for them when he was weak and barely alive. Nico almost turned to shadows. Nico was never truly regarded as a hero and was often over looked. He helped save percys ass multiple times while percy was saving the world but only got 15 minutes of fame then went back to being judged and an outcast. Percy often said to nico that he was wanted and people liked him but campers often showed the exact opposite. Reyna even felt more pain from nico in their brief connection than she had ever had from her entire legion during the battles against the giant polybotes. Also please note that after all the trauma nico was put through he was afraid to trust anyone, therefore resulting in his loneliness as he pushed anyone who tried to get close to him away, his defence mechanism.

Sometimes, i feel like nico is ready to just break down and let all of his emotions loose. He lost his mother and sister. His father said he rather have him die rather than his sister. He grew up in a time period where homophobia waa extremely common. He went to tarturus WILLINGLY so no one else would have too. He fought in two wars. Reyna almost passed out by feeling PART of his pain. And theres even more i didnt put down. And mind you, he only 14-15 (84-85 chronological but it felt like a few months.) And went through most of all of this in 5 years! We have met many amazing and powerful demigods and most have their own trauma, but nicos whole life is basically traumatic! People are even afraid by thinking of him, despite all he has done. If it werent for him, they probably wouldnt have won the second titans war. Dont forget that he was the one who got percy to go into the river styx. He persuaded hades, persephone and demeter to join and help out in the war. Just imagin how much power he holds! Hes younger than percy, so imagin how it would be if he trained enough to be considered on the same level as him. He has helped people in ways no one would imagin, yet everyone ignores it and focuses on the main characters. In my opinion, a story from nicos point of view would be the best and could possibly be what uncle rick should do next, but that would cause him more pain to nico and our hearts. He has been through so much pain that it is unbelievable how he do something like join kronos side. I keep thinking about what would happen if nico was to join kronos's side in the war or caused a war himself as the "villian".
