Darwin Nunez transfer fees was £85M. Kai Havertz transfer fees was £67.5M. Hojlund transfer fees was £72M. Nicolas Jackson is better than all these players and his price tag was £32M. Thats less than half of their price tags. He scored more League goals than these overrated players. If Jackson was playing for Arsenal, Liverpool or Man United the media would've praised him every week! Chelsea players have to be really good like Cold Palmer to get few praises. Malo Gusto barely gets praised and he was as good as Ben white last season(yes, that overrated Arsenal player). Deluded Arsenal fanboys think he is world class player. Caicedo was as good as Rice and already better than Rice this season and the start of 2024! But, the media will never mentioned that.

I have always found it strange why we tend to just disregard assists with strikers because their main job is to 'lead the line', to 'score goals'. Why is it not a valued asset to set up your team mates, to be unselfish, even as a striker? When you take into account assists as well, he has contributed to 25 goals in 40 games, thats a great record. Haaland may have distorted our view on what a striker should produce.
@rainman87942 ай бұрын
One thing I'd add that impacts Jackson's numbers is that he doesn't take pens. If he took (and scored) our penalties last season he would have put up 23+ goals in his debut season and the narrative around him would be very different. I've always backed Jackson because his all round game is very good and most importantly, he is a big net positive to our team against every type of opposition. And even his weaknesses I expect to be worked on and improve over time due to his relative inexperience and the fact he seems willing to improve. We've already seen improvement in just over 1 season so I'm expecting him to continue. I think the fact he's a meme means casual fans assume he's shit.

So even in comparison to other prem strikers jackson is up there and on top of that his all round game which u have dicussed is better than most strikers in the prem. also he only cost 30mil, is still only 23yrs old so will only improve as chelsea get more settled too

I was high on Jackson when he was at Villarreal, I didn’t consider him a pure striker, but he would always score whenever I saw him get subbed on. He was more wasteful when he 1st joined Chelsea, but I did think he was overly criticized for his price tag compared to the amount Chelsea has paid for other players. Also, Chelsea had Werner, Morata, & an older version of Higuain recently but their fans somehow have no time for Nico Jackson. He just needs to keep his confidence high.

Here is the problem with jackson. When ever he is in a goal scoring position he always wants to drag the ball with him for a few seconds before deciding to shoot. He cant shoot first time. If you look at the goals he scored. for both the goals he had A LOT of time to make a shooting decison. But if you look at the easy chances he misses its always because he tried to tak too many chancess or he just didnt have enough time to think. He simply cant make a good shot under PREASSURE while tob strikers like haaland , nkunku , watkin , dhuran can

@@Prime1Wunna his general play is useless for a striker. We need a player that as soon as they in the booc just want to tear of the net. We dont need a player infront who wants to dribble his way into the box. His negatives are huge because it involves him not being willing to shoot the ball under preassure. Go look at the last 2 goals he scored and pau attention to how much time he had on the ball the go look at haalands goal against arsenal where he just look at how he just placed the ball on his first touch, Then go look at jackson miss against bournmouth and look at what he did when he got the ball in the box

@@Abdullah-vg1uc this is completely inaccurate. Chelsea does not create the chances they do with Nico on the bench. They get created because hes there. Its not like you just sub a better finisher in. I think he can become an elite striker, but not prolific in the way of someone like Haaland or Mbappe. but i think Jackson if he continues his growth, i can see him score 18-20 goals a season if his decision making and positioning improves, Jackson gives defenders a hard time, because he does a lot of different things quite well. and he is a tall and physical guy aswell, which helps him in duels, because defenders cannot easily push him of the ball

@megaslice232 ай бұрын
I've said since last season, thinking of Jackson as a traditional goal poaching 9 does him a massive disservice. It's a square peg in a round hole. He's more Bobby Firmino than any other top PL striker in recent years. He may not have all the ability on the ball that Firmino had, but he's still technically secure. He also runs the channels way more than Firmino ever did, presses almost as well, and is probably a bit stronger. Jackson getting 17-20 PL goals every season (since he doesn't take pens like most strikers do) should be good enough for a contending side, especially one that plays in a system like Maresca's.
