I literally just made a video about this too! It has been ten years for me, and I feel the same, it feels like I've been in China forever. I also like to reminisce, and I can get pretty nostalgic at times. I like the showing the grandkids thing - a KZbin channel is kinda like a photo album, but much more engaging... although who knows... in 30 years, the grandkids will probably be like... Oh, here he goes again with the KZbin channel... haha

china has also changed me !!! i was extremely anti-communist due to my parent's experience in china and what my father taught me. as a social science graduate, i needed to find out for myself what china was like. so i started returning to china to visit. the more i visited, the more i change my view. i remembered i visited some places with extreme poverty. years gone by, those places are no longer poor. my mother-in-law used to send money to her relatives in china. no more as she said that those Chinese are richer than her!!! btw, my daughter lives in London, UK. my granddaughter will start learning Chinese as a second language when she starts grade 3. my daughter told me that the school requires students to learn a second language, either French or Chinese. i am not sure if you have heard of dominic johnson-hill in Beijing. he came from UK and has been living in china since the early 90s. so, you never know 😊😊😊 love from canada.

To grow stronger and become a better person, one of the lessons that everyone has to go through is to learn how to be critical and independent of others' judgements. Some judgements can be constructive and some are purely destructive and malicious. Being a YTer sort of gives you a special opportunity to experience that in a quick and perhaps painful way. But the outcome I believe is worth it and you'll grow so much as a person too. Don't let the negativities drag you down. Always look up and go higher!

As a Chinese working and studying in Switzerland. From my experiences, I know it's so hard to be a KZbinr and not making fake news on China. Just be yourself, I will support you lovely couple forever ! 加油,做自己!
