I've always said that from a certain level, it doesn't make sense for an artist to judge that everyone is the best and everyone has won. But he is even above this level. He probably wouldn't win completely in the Italian repertoire. There are competitors like Jussi, Luciano, and some others. But even there, Maestro Gedda is not behind, and in selected parts, he is also the best. In other languages, he has no competition, simply no competition. Incredible artist.

@@Herur22 I listened to his duet from the opera "I Puritani" with Dame Joan. He sang with her, not behind her. At one point, Joan was singing ...probably D6 (??). Nicolai sang the same on the tenor scale. I fell under a chair, absolutely unbelievable. Facing "La Stupenda" is difficult. How incredible human vocal cords are. Strange that two adults are willing to make that sound requiring training for years. A normal person can never understand this and compares it to a pair of screaming apes. But this is opera, as I love it - its highest level... Not common, very exceptional - impossible today.

@@trilobit4 Yes. that duet is something special. I have read some accounts of the people, who were there and they said that the house literally exploded with a deafening applause.

@@Herur22 I also read these memories. The audience almost made a present for their pants. That's why it's important to take brown pants to the opera. Although unfortunately not today.What a pity.

Удивляюсь почему на западе известен только Чайковский, а Римский-Корсаков незаслуженно забыт?

If you question was meant for the "West", it was perhaps not a very good idea to write in cyrrilic. But what is the situation in Russia? Is Čajkovski there played less than Rimski-Korsakov?

Зачем так медленно? Музыки не слышно, всё разваливается.
@Herur227 жыл бұрын
Slow? I' d say that it's rather quick. Lemeshev sings 4.06 min and Kozlovsky even 4.42 min.

Golovanov's version with Nelepp is not too slow.

Sorry, I confused it with the Song og the Indian guest.

Lemeshev's perfomance of the song of the Indian guest is perfect, in my opinion. Kozlovsky is too slow too.
