My first eMTB will definitely be belt driven. Oh, and word of advice for anybody who looks to get anything belt driven.. DEFINITELY purchase at least a second belt, learn how to properly store it, and keep it handy.. these belts should handle a LOT of wear and miles, but you can't just pick one up in any bike shop like you can a chain.

Why the simplom ? The nicolai looks like a much more premium bike
@kr84903 ай бұрын
Simplon is a boutique brand and put a lot of time and effort into the bikes (not saying Nicolai don't). In my opinion the Simplon also looks premium, but just in a different way. The rest is a personal choice. But for me it was the weight distribution. The Nicolai had a 'overall' weighty feel, which I think was the problem for me (exceptionally difficult do a wheelie on it without a lot of effort). However, this was not the case with the Simplon. I think it's down to the carbon frame on the Simplon. I was also able to do a decent bunny hop on the Simplon but when I tried it on the Nicolai it was just too hard. I just don't know why. Frame geometry perhaps? Either way I didn't get to test on a proper trail but if I was to translate what I experienced (albeit limited) there were slight nuances between the two bikes and I felt the Simplon felt more at home to my riding style. I spent a lot of time on them both and was torn between them. I didn't decide just on looks. Both are great choices but Simplon took the edge for me. 👍
@bterper11423 ай бұрын
@@kr8490 it’s funny because to me the simplon looks less premium. In my opinion it looks bulky and not like any of the common e-bikes imo. If the pro auto shift override is used too much the bike should alter the fixed cadence to a more suitable range for the rider , e.g. if you set cadence at 80 but are constantly down shifting it should set to 79 , then 78 and creep it until the rider mostly stops down shifting manually , an early up shift should alter it the other way , all averaged out over several mins of use . Gradient should also alter the cadence slightly IF you choose to have that happen . or the app should recommend your best cadence based on your actual demand .
@mikefize22795 ай бұрын
It does do that. If you override the auto.shift in the pro mode, it analyses the new cadence and adjusts to it. So no more fighting with automatic shifting like with other systems.

I’ll tell you what happens when there’s a Bosch motor failure. We take your bike, verify that it’s warranty. We drop the motor and work out what the issue is, and if it can’t be fixed, then we go into the system and apply to Bosch to have it replaced, stating what it issue is. They then send us a new motor, and we send the old one back. In less than a week it’s replaced with a new replacement, and ready for the customer. I have no experience with Pinion though.

The amount of times overrun would be beneficial is very limited for the average user. But overrun is the nr. 1 reason for destroying chains and cassettes. Thats exactly why I wont buy an ebike, the technology is moving too fast at the moment. If i buy one it will be out of date within a couple years. My normal bike will hold up a lot longer. Maybe once the tech slows down I'll look into getting one.
