Straight to the point! Perfect review. As for the drone I think they just implemented what every traveller thought of - no messing with setup, learning to fly, hitting a tree, just point and shoot. Now just have to figure out on how to order it.

Enjoyed the review. I've been enjoying mine as well and love the simplicity of it. The Dolly Track is my favorite. I was surprised that you didn't mention being able to adjust some of the options for the flight paths on the drone itself by holding the mode button once you're on the option you want and of course more options in the app (but the app isn't needed to enjoy the drone, just to get the pics and videos off)

How does it behave around more than 3 ppl moving around it. Like walking through some tourist area? Will it lose sight of you, or does it stay locked on you until it lands on your hand?

@@_Mydrin so far, my experience has been good. It locks on you, so if it does lose sight of you, it pauses in place until it finds you again. It seems to move around people and objects fairly well when it is following you but I will be playing with that more.

Hi Nicolas, great introduction and review about the Hover X1. I would use it for travel blogs but also filming sport content with follow mode and/or dolly track like you do with skating, also using the manual mode to get some shots for the scenary without myself in the shot. None of the reviews I've seen so far say if the motors are brushless or they're going to fail after a month of use or.. if it uses gps to hold it's position against wind , on the bridge I noticed it comes back to you but you had to extend your arm out what if it waits for your palm and it's too far from you and you can't reach it ..would it land down the bridge into the water?

Thanks for the review and the chance at winning this useful piece of tech. I am a wellness instructor at a local nonprofit community health center. I recently started recording exercise and other wellness related videos for our patients and employees. Current time? 15h30 8 January 2024. Currently in bed with covid and bored. Planning to bike pack in one of the Stans in summer and we're thinking of taking a drone to get some aerial clips and shots. And this sounds perfect. Question is, what will it be like at altitude? Cycling downhill? As in what is the speed limit? What is the wind limit? Anyway as a newbie, i think this could be perfect as I am always the one taking photos...now i can be in the video and photos😂

I understand that a controller is not _needed_ for these modes, but is it _possible_ to use say a mobile phone as a controller? Just for simple flying, nothing fancy. E.g. when visiting a castle, can one get it to fly up and take shots?

Nice review! Can this drone do shots of Buildings from the birds eye perspective? Or lets say, do a 360 rotation around a fixed point from a higher altitude? Or is it only suitable more or less for footage where it follows a person or tracking moving objects? I am missing a few words about its versatility beyond what we have seen here...

There's a manual mode where you can direct it from your cell phone via wifi. But flight path is limited to 30 feet in height.

I just purchased this drone, and I like it! But there are pros and cons. On the positive side, it does most of what it says it does; on the negative side, there is only a 10 or 12-minute battery life, even though it comes with two batteries, and it takes up to 4 hours to charge 1 battery. I see the advertising showing people getting followed on their bikes; I guess the bike ride is less than 10 minutes long. There is minimal instruction on how to really use it; also, when sharing the video or picture, it's not as clear as the original. I had to research KZbin to find how to work things; with that being said, I give it a 7.5 out of 10 rating.

Sorry to inform but some places you cant fly this. I just arrive in Thailand and i was going to bring my drone, but I gave up, because the law is not about weight or size, is about ANYTHING THAT FLYES /HOVER ON THE AIR THAT HAS A CAMERA, must: get 3 different certificates, one for National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). Second, by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), and a third paper that proves that your drone has a insurance of 1 million thai bath, which is around 33 thousand USD for cover damages, and it costs around 50 usd to apply. Even a drone that weights 10 grams, as long as it has a camera built in, it must have all three above.

For this price it is poor. Lagging video, washed out face, poor compress quality. After I saw the video, mavic mini makes 2x better videos and photos, for half price. For 550EUR? For 150 I would say ok. Or for the same price DJI mini 2, smooth videos and its have this same selfie features.
