My daughter sat beside Nicole watching their children playing in the park at Black Rock Victoria bayside. They spoke for about 20 minutes and, because it was out of context, it was not until about 30 minutes of “I know her from somewhere “ that she realised who it was. That’s the measure of her modesty and down to earth persona.

There is something about Australian women, Margot Robbie is amazingly beautiful and here (and still) Nicole Kidman is so beautiful it's like looking at the Sun, I don't know the relationship she had with Tom Cruise but to have been married to someone that beautiful and charming I don't believe I could get over losing her. "Dead Calm" and "Moulin Rouge" are two of my favorite films of Nicole's.

Funnily enough I am Australian and my husband and I were taken for South Africans when travelling in the USA - it did not occur to us that we would be mistaken for South African - English - UK yes.
@gnarbeljo89802 жыл бұрын
To an American or English ear, South African English and Austrailian have much more in common and are more likely to be confused. Most South Africans have a heavier accent than Trevor Noah who's worked alot on his since he moved to the States, and Americans don't travel to these countries alot, nor is the immigration of from them prevalent. I think to European ears you can usually differentiate thanks to the influence of Afrikaans identifiable as a Dutch accent in SA English and sometimes a more staccatic delivery. I also think a heavy Cockney accent may be perceived as Austrailan but rarely Austrailian perceived as British English in the US, they just have very little exposure to it or any Emglish media, only a little bit of film and inteviews with English actors (who often modify their speech over there). British English most Americans have heard is all RP with no more color than Ricky Gervais. I remeber back when Mel Gibson was hot, Americans had real trouble following him at first. Americans are also very racially aware so if you're black, to an American your probablt from SA, thet honestly don't know that black peoples first language is likely to be Aussie or British. It's funny, there's a yt video with Idris Elba on YT and the e n t i r e comment section is about the shocker that he not just speaks British English but IS a Brit. The perspective beyond their borders is very obscure to say the least. Of and btw, the term RP is also unknown over there. English to most Americans is limited to RP, Glaswegian Scottish and a generalized Irish twang. Perhaps the use of "Godday mate" is identifiable as Aussie to them. You're unlikey to find an American hearing the difference between Canadian French and European French (Candian being taught as "French" in schools) Brazilian vs Portugese, etc etc. American actors are crap at learning other types of English, wheras forreign English speakers in the US can't make it unless they are great at learning American. With very few exeptions. Like Russians they are stuck in their own bubble.

🥴 Well Americans aren't renowned for their intelligence. When I was traveling in the USA, I was asked the most ludicrous questions.....Did we have fridges in my country. Did we have ice-cream and candy. I am from London.

@@MrsSlocombesPuddyCat It's remarkable, I totally agree. The US is very much like a third world country in many ways. It's gottten worse in the last decades too. He totally blew it! He went way too far beyond the good taste with the interview. Graham Norton, which is the GOAT in this business would never do such thing.
@jonathanrex2 жыл бұрын
That is a matter of taste. Graham is terrific and makes his guests feel good. For the viewer, however, Graham can come across as a little too predictable and shallow over time. Ideal for viewers who like it a bit more chaste. In this respect, a quick-witted Jonathan may be too direct for someone who is used to everything being "bleeped" away. Like Ricky Gervais, Jonathan is less known for hypocritical flattery.
