Oh, Nicole, you are a true trailblazer. Thank you for speaking for us all. We All grieve for the lives and dreams we had that were denied us, don't we? We've been robbed and cheated. We should have immense compassion for ourselves. I try to treat myself the way I would treat anyone else who has endured this HORROR,..it helps me to go on, when nothing else seems to work...Never A Hint of Informed Consent. Zero. MALPRACTICE. We all Know This...

Wish I could have spoken. 32 years of prescribed benzos for me - and instead of reducing my doses my doctors just kept increasing and increasing them. My life has been taken away from me and I want it back but there isn't a doctor ANYWHERE that knows how to help me, and the ones that say that they can are certainly not in such a rural area of the country as I live. I'm just screwed. I know someday that someone will rip me off of benzos and I'll probably have a massive seizure and die. That is my concern Every. Single. Day. Also, you cannot - under any circumstances - be permitted to have an emergency supply of even 3 days. I'm terrified every time that there's a huge snowstorm or other severe weather event. It's torture. This is literally torture.

I’m sorry sweetheart that you are going this keep praying for a divine intervention . 32 years is such a long time I’ve only been taking them for 3 months & the withdrawal symptoms are hell even at 3 months. But i feel that God has done a miracle 24 hours since my last dose & i feel that this is my opportunity to quit them cold turkey because the withdrawal symptoms are tolerable at the moment & i pray it continues to be this way in the next 48 hours. I pray that God intervenes in your situation somehow sweetie!

I was prescribed 2mg Klonopin and .75 mg Xanax daily for 23 years. My only side effects while taking the meds were blurred vision from the Xanax and shallow breathing from the Klonopin. Worked very well for panic attacks, insomnia, and generalized anxiety. My doctor retired. New doc said you’re coming off of these. Tapered over 7 months from my prescribed doses to 0 on both. That was extremely difficult with many of the physical and mental symptoms that others describe, but was doable. I’m now 2 years from my last dose and my only lingering side effects are neuralgia in one big toe and some slight trouble with concentration that I didn’t have before. I am 65. I do take antidepressants and respond pretty well to them. During the last 2.5 years I never missed a minute of work. Work was actually therapeutic in that it focused my mind on something other than me. There’s an awful lot of doom and gloom and I’m damaged for life in these video clips and comments and I just wanted to say that its not that way for everyone.

Hi Steve. Wow you did it. Happy for you. I am 83 and did a 7 month taper from almost 40 years of klonapin. Been off for 6 months and going through hell. Never expected to make it but now somehow I think I will. Never want to see a doctor ever again. Total abandonment. I'm glad I stopped the drug but wouldn't do it again. Much harder than I thought and don't have any idea how much longer to suffer. God bless!
@stevelayman8934 Жыл бұрын
@@KathleenMottingerThe withdrawal is very difficult. You have a body that is a bit broken and you are trying to make sense of it with a mind that is a bit broken. I too felt a bit of a turning point at about 6 months. Some days you feel you need the patience of Job to get through. I found that keeping myself physically and mentally active was very important. The racing thoughts that I had were so much worse if I didn’t . I could feel myself truly healing at about the 1 year point.

Thank you for posting this. We always hear the horror stories - but, of course, people who didn't have a horrific experience aren't exactly spending time talking on the web about it. They've moved on. I hope I'm one of those someday. I hope you feel as proud of yourself as we do for you just reading your comment.

How to describe the suffering? We probably shouldn't do that, because we don't want to cause patients to have despair and panic attacks just by reading what's. In their future. Just know that you should prepare ahead of time to be able to properly care for yourselves, when, not if, this happens. Recruit Relatives and Friends to help you! Be prepared!

No connection to anyone, myself or anything. No memory or cognition. No sleep. Constant terror and agony and agitation to put it mildly. I can’t describe what has happened to me. My health continues to just decline. Hormonal system wrecked. On and on. There is only so much never changing insanity and daily horror one can take. I’m sorry to rant.
