The Hollywood Bowl to me resembles an outdoor football field. Nicole has a four octave voice and nails it with a High C at around 5:15. As of Nov. '23 Nicole is principal singer with Lord Webbers 'Sunset Blvd' on London's West End theater. Great singing, very emotional.

***** Eh? She's reaching and sustaining the very same notes here as she did at the Olivier Awards. It's not in a lower key, and these notes are not even high for her range - not even just in terms of belt-voice either. She's belted as high as a B below soprano high C in full voice, and in connected head voice she's gone up to a G above soprano high C. The issue at the Olivier Awards was the CONDITION that her voice was in, which in turn affected her technique and resulted in her projecting the notes in an unhealthy way, causing unnecessary tension in an area of her range that typically isn't problematic for her.

Grizabella is a character whose youth was lost long, long ago. She's not supposed to sound clean and effortless, as she's an old cat wanting to get her youth back. Don't get me wrong, Leona does a beautiful job at singing this, but she seems to forget that acting also plays a huge part in this song.
