This album charted the best in Australia and New Zealand, especially given its instrumentation and percussion correlating well with Australia’s musical culture. Tusk is always a highlight for me during Fleetwood Mac’s Oceanic tours.

it was genius when they came out with it and broke the ballad formula and pissed off the record executives. And it is legendary now.

And for sure the record company wanted a Rumors Pt. 2, but you have to love that they were given room to be creative and explore all these ideas. I guess they didn't have much of a choice, after they spent over a year in the studio and spent millions making that double album, what could those execs do? LOL

+Deb Kelliher Where was the mistake? I never noticed anything, they always sound great to me.
@Debandliam9 жыл бұрын
Just that I think Mick started the song with the wrong beat. After trying for a while to go along with it, Lyndsey pulled the plug and they had to start the song again. Still sound great though!

Deb Kelliher Thanks for replying. I will watch it some more and see if I can hear the difference. Lindsey is a perfectionist, which I'm not saying it as bad thing, I love Lindsey.

All this was missing was Brisbane Excelsior Brass Band (or similar) to join them on stage as the Marching Band, like in the original music video.

With Gyro it was a elliptical sphere. With Joestar, this might be a perfect or even highest level of rotation

A band does not start a song again, if the band makes a mistake who is going to know only the band. Not the audience they should've have kept on playing the first version. Only Fleetwood Mac would get away with this. I'm glad I didn't buy a ticket for their recent Australia tour. Speaking from me who was in FM cover band back in the 1990'S

peter harding speaking as a percussionist who’s been playing for over 20 years, I could tell the tambourine (who was not Stevie, mind you-she’s nowhere close to the mic) was off at the beginning and I was wondering why Lindsey was about an eighth count behind. I’m glad they redid it. It shows they’re not too prideful to make sure the audience gets what they paid for, which is a collection of songs on rhythm, on beat and on key. If you watch Lindsey when he’s starting the redo you can see his right hand count the beats. He’s calibrating his beat count with that of the tambourine and Mick’s bass drum kicks so he makes sure he comes in on the first beat of the 4/4 count. And he continues counting on the second verse by waving his hands up and down. There might have been some ear piece malfunctions. The easiest way to keep everyone on beat is to designate a stroke “leader” (which in almost every case is Lindsey) because the drummer can’t be seen by everyone out in front. And if something technical goes wrong, as I suspect it did here, there needs to be someone the other performers are watching for cues. So, this audience member definitely noticed it.

Just a few years after this they booted Lindsey but you can see the writing on the wall here. The nonverbals between these bandmates indicated a level of hostility ripe for emotional outburst and irrational decision making.

LOL what was Stevie doing? I get that this is Lindsey's number but standing there and looking pretty is not for her!
