Great vlog. I am renting a land rover and driving around southern africa for 3 weeks in September - this series has made me look forward to that even more.

iPhone Hack for Future Reference: Get a powered USB hub (very cheap), a lightning to USB adaptor for the phone, plug your phone in to the USB hub thru the adaptor (doesn't have to have power if you use short cables), plug a quality external mic in to the hub, and walla you cheat the phone to use an external mic that you already have instead of buying one of theirs... AND you have no more crappy iPhone mic to go with your high quality iPhone lenses. Also GREAT vlog!!! So jelly. What a trip

I think you were in the mahangu park. It's a nice little park. The area on the other river bank is called Buffalo Core, and it is very impressive and secludet. We found there masses of buffaloes, sable antelopes and other game, and there is an old south african military base with old buildings between the trees on red sand. Very enchanted atmosphere...

Sorry to hear that the camera lens is broken and that the iphone audio is going in and out. It was impressive what you got out of the phone with the lens adapters. I know Louis uses the headphones for mic recording when doing interviews. maybe that is an option? The animals are fantastic and love the coverage you and Ben are providing. Africa looks amazing.
@gregvierra61417 жыл бұрын
First, WOW! You're Ngepi campsite is insane! Up close and personal with African fauna. Second, continue using the iphone to vlog with a combo of iPhone mic, voice overs, plus background music. Make lemonade from these lemons. 👊👍😎👏🏼👏🏼

My wife has the same camera and hers did the same thing! We sent the lens back to Sony to fix since it was under warranty, they ended up just cleaning it as their fix and it still wasn't fixed. So we sent it back again! Good luck!

Filter? Sorry to hear about the camera. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be to be in such an epic place and not be able to capture it. Filmmaking is in large part problem solving so i'm sure you'll figure it out. The iphone footage looks great. Wonder if you'd share what LUT or Filter you are using on the footage. Love the look you've got going. Best of luck on the rest of the trip and hope you get the camera situation figured out. -Henry

Even though the camera is broke...the iPhone 6S does it's job good. And yeah the sound maybe not good. How fast were you guys going when you sat on the hood or bonnet (if you call it that in SA)? Love you and Ben's vlog travels throughout parts of Africa. Beautiful scenery and animals as well. I would love to go visit SA and the countries bordering up to SA and go on road trip and experience the wild bush and nature. I would love to see you guys on a North American road trip going from Alaska through Canada's provinces and territories and all the way down through America's 48 states. Possibly even down further to Mexico and further down south and see Central and South America. I know you can't compare African wild life and nature with North/South American nature and wild life but both are splendid and magnificent in each way.

Yeah, I think it's all about upgrading from the kit lens to be honest, one with more stability as well.
@joseperez-cl8jk7 жыл бұрын
Ya time for a upgrade, have you tried a system reset on the camera it may not help but if it is only the connection that may work, the lens was making a sound rattle when you were showing us so that means it's dead, you could go on you tube to search how to fix that lens. Your phone is just ok for now!!
